Oh, that's right. Forgot about that bit. I wonder if our little operation screwed up whatever our Johnson had planned in the DFW.

I was thinking about that, too. It probably did. We're gonna have to lie through our teeth to survive this. I fucked this WHOLE damn thing up. full blame falls on me for everything. If hopeless survives this as a free man, i'll be amazed.

With everyone either driving away, or running for the hills, it seems to me like we can end initiative order, at least temporarily.  This should make things more fluid, and hopefully a little more exciting than scrubbing your astral signature for every complex action.  It will still be a few turns before the drones are on top of the pit, and it doesn't seem as though they're keen to use firepower unless it's in response to firepower.  Error feels a little nervous up on top of that storage container with an assault rifle though.

well, sorry guys, but we're fucked. We failed at every single mission objective here, got our decker killed, probably pissed away any chance we had at our johnson paying us IF we even have a snowballs chance in hell of completing the job, and screwed up covering our own asses.

again, this is all my fault. sorry.

OK, so if we're not in combat rounds for the moment, here's what Error and Bookworm would get up to...

Error: Will jump down from the storage unit and head towards the kids. His AR is slung and probably somewhat covered by Breeze's body, not that having a dead body concealing your assault rifle likely helps matters much. Based on Hopeless' suggestion, he's going to say something to the effect that the body is that of the Savior of College Station, who was out here trying to protect the students like he did the other day. If they want to protect his memory (and incidentally not get in trouble with the police), they should come with the rest of the team.

Bookworm: Will finish wiping the Stunbolt signature. She'll ask Error if he would punch her Barrier Spell to dispel it (he's strong enough that he should bring it down immediately unless he critically glitches) and wipe that signature out of existence, recovering her brick.

I figure that's about all we would have time for, I don't think we can do anything with the kegs, short of punching holes in them and throwing them in the pond. Not sure if we really have time for that either.

I guess let me know how much of that we can get done before the drones start getting danger close. I also don't imagine it's going to be easy to talk the kids into coming with...

@Poindexter: It's not all your fault. Hell, if Breeze was a better decker (and by "if Breeze was a better decker," I of course mean if R&B wasn't terrible at rolling dice for our NPCs, LOL) this would have probably played out in a totally different way. We just pick up the pieces. I think if we do have any more interactions with these people, we definitely don't need to have any civilians involved.

ETA: @R&B: Do you want to take back control of Error when we're out of combat? I'm okay either way, I know it's a little weird having one player making RP decisions for two characters.

From a GM's POV, I don't think you guys are fucked fucked.  There's a badly damaged sedan that's just about to hit the city streets, so that should do well for your own getaway.  While still very incomplete, there is a picture beginning to form about who you guys are working against, and it's always good to know who your enemy(ies) is (are).  As for Breeze, man it sucks when an entire plan is foiled by 1 bad roll, but that's the way it happened in this case.  You know, even a bad stealth roll won't always botch an infiltration job, but the combination of Breeze's bad roll, and BD's personality. . . well, yeah, you guys know what happened.  Things could have gone very, very differently.

@Jack, just to clarify the plan, you're wanting to use Breeze's body as a means of getting the abandoned students to follow the rest of the team back to the Americar? If so, can I get an appropriate social roll.

@All, your best guess by the way the drones are moving is that they'll be on top of your present location within 10 seconds.

ETA: yeah, I'll take over Error and make the roll for him, unless you've already done it and are posting the reply as I update this post.

I never said it was a particularly good plan, LOL. Yes, Error is basically going to try to get the kids to leave the area using a combination of:

1) If you get caught out here, you're going to get into a lot of trouble with both the cops and the school, not to mention the people who were out here shooting everyone very well might try to track you down to silence witnesses
2) The Savior of College Station sacrificed himself to keep the drones from shooting you. Do this in remembrance of him.
3) Since the students have no idea about who's flying the inbound drones, Error is just going to say that we know there are three armed drones heading this way, so the danger isn't over.

Not sure what skill to use, there's a bit of a mixture of truth and con in the above. I guess I'll roll Etiquette and you can take dice off/add them in if you think it should be something else. I didn't put in any modifiers since I really don't know where this request would fall...

CHA (3) + Etiquette (2) (5d6.hits(5)=0) (At least it isn't a glitch)

For an entertainer, Error isn't particularly talented at it (on top of that, with his language skills, he's limited to two dice from social skills in any event).

Everything Else: OK, with only 10 seconds, I don't think we're going to have time to take down the Barrier. Regardless of what the kids decide, we're going to head for the hills. Stuff we leave behind: two kegs, a Barrier spell, and probably two students.

ETA: Hey, you're MORE than welcome to roll for Error if you want... ;)

I already have rolled for Error and got a slightly better result, so that's what we'll use.

ETA: I think there's the action economy to kick the barrier as they make their way to the south.  Barrier takes 6P.  That's enough to break it into a million little pieces of mana, right?

Yeah, the Barrier spell can only sustain 4P before collapsing. It almost collapsed when Bookworm got shot at, but only sustained 3P due to the penetrating weapons rule. Its damage boxes regenerate fully at the end of the CT in which the damage is sustained.

Bookworm is probably going to have to project back to take care of the Barrier signature. It's going to probably take her 12 seconds to clear it, which is time we don't have. She may be able to wipe out an hour or two of the signature's duration, depending on the timing. Once we get to the car, she'll ask the team to wait if possible for her to project and clear it. If we can't wait, she'll project anyway and then do her best to find her body afterward.

I'll post a quick IC.

Probably? The rules about your body getting moved are a little incomplete in the sense there isn't an established threshold for the Extended Test. Maybe they could do it as a teamwork test? Alternately, Hopeless might be able to task a spirit as a remote service with following Bookworm in the astral and, once she was finished doing what she needed to do, guiding her back to Hopeless using its Spirit-Summoner link, which presumably allows a spirit to find their summoner with ease.

As I understand it, the Search Power will allow that very thing.

ETA: Saithor, if you want to give us an IC of what Archive is up to on this glorious night, I think we're ready for you.  I'll post Breeze's message to Archive once that's done.

@Poindexter, I think you posted your question in the Tabula Rosa thread. I figure Breeze doesn't have anywhere else to go but the trunk. I guess we could tie him to the roof or the hood, but that might be a little noticeable ;)

ETA: I think Hopeless is the faciest dude we've got at this point, so...

We could prop him up in the front seat and do a weekend a bernies thing.
