So, before I unexpectedly vanish for no good reason like many prospective GMs on this pbp forums do...

Let's buff its AP and Acc by one point each, just like you said. It shouldn't be worse that the sword, but it shouldn't be better in every respect too (that way the sword has higher Reach at least).
So higher acc, but lower reach. I dig it.

Well, if we're doing the rule where I can do a pan with my living persona, I could drop my transys avalon for some more gear.
Concepts are great, but implementation sucks. Why not improve it?

Well, it's your choice: either you can form a PAN, or you ignore jammers (excluding the headjammer).

So higher acc, but lower reach. I dig it.

Glad to hear =) Fineblades are in need of love.

DON'T DO IT MAN!

I think it has something to do with a long-haired chic crawling out of my TV or something like that. I have no other explanation for GMs going missing all the time =))

Oh there is something else that would come up too,

Flensel Fabric - Honestly, this stuff they copy pasta from WAR! makes no real sense. How would this armor enhancement work?

My guess; the wearer must simply be facing in the direction of the signal he's trying to work with. In other words, it's not an omnidirectional thing so you don't get Noise Reduction = Rating all the time, only when working with specific things.

And it's Fresnel Fabric :)

Kinda sounds hard to do honestly. Especially if you're in VR.

Though if it was like a lighthouse and lens, according to thing, I suppose it could be something like

http://lighthouseaudiovisual.co.uk/ekmps/shops/lighthouseav1/images/jb-systems-led-disco-ball-dj-effect-light-%5B3%5D-146-p.jpg

Where you've got one bulb and multiple lenses to beam out the light.

Hard to do; not impossible. Impractical if you're in VR? Absolutely. That's the cost I'd impose, though, because Noise Reduction 6 is pretty darned powerful.

* Triskavanski shrugs. As far as I know, noise works both ways.

Its food for thought I suppose.

I don't know how old you are, Trisk, but if you're familiar with good old fashioned TV signals broadcast over air, they could be pretty unreliable.

Depending on ambient noise, you sometimes had to adjust the antenna. I remember having to hold it up above the TV a couple of times when something important was on.

Think of Fresnel Fabric like a directional jammer, and you won't be far off; there might be noise in between you and the source of the signal, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it affects you directly.

Flensel Fabric<...>

martinchaen hit the nail on the head with that example and his understanding of this piece of gear. By the way one doesn't have to be old to understand that example: the TV at my country-house still has such an antenna =P

Cool as cool, Elek, thanks for providing answers to my questions :)

You are welcome =)

As for the diceroller, I think we will stick to orokos.com.

By the way, I have a question for you: is it OK with you if I hide my rolls? I am used to rolling behind a screen, but if it is considered bad manners in pbp or something to that extent, I can roll in the open.

As far as I understand, you chose to follow the general background story as offered by obidancer and now are hammering out finer points. Is this correct? How much time do you need? No need to hurry: I'm just asking =)

Question for the experienced pbp players: do we need anything else? I'm currently working on the house-rules list (it's not long, I just have trouble remembering everything), but maybe there is something else I should do before we start?

i dont care either way.

seems so. I think we can have this hammered out in a day or two?

it'd help if you put what color codes you plan on using for speech, matrix, etc in your signature.

Take your time =)

Done. Too bad there is no uniform code in place =(
