To prevent everyone being awaken in my campaign, I'm offering a 50K nuyen mundane bonus to new players.
And boy even if they accept it, they sure do hesitate about playing a mundane.

So do you think SR5 will be better or worse on this issue?

But the awakened need karma to initiate and bind foci.

That's the point - Awakened/Emerged continue to need Karma more then nuyen, while this is reversed for mundanes.  I have...  Concerns regarding the effect this will have for game dynamics - specifically that it will mean a conflict at the level of the players, which is of course the wrong place to have conflict.

Considering that's table-specific, and not systemic, impossible to say.

I need to get in on those games. Ohhh the things I could do with an extra 50k in my pocket.

Nobody will ever pay 132 karma to bring a single skill from 9 to 12

Can anyone with SR5O confirm the skill karma cost?

I think, with the priority system, you are going to see less awakened, and fewer metahumans, since those
are now penalized choices. I think most people are going to be Edge 5 mundane humans.

2/3 of my table will be mundane, but as RHat stated, it's impossible to know.

Highly table specific.
In the last campaign I was in we had
1) full magician
1) physical adept infiltration specialist
1) rigger
1) technomancer
1) street sam

so 2 out of 5 PCs were magically gifted. (There was also an NPC who was around the group for a fair bit who was a physical adept)

I don't expect it will affect the table I play at. Generally speaking, we always have a variety of characters present. Since we like to do theme games, that tends to channel the character creation process towards the theme.

Wait, at high levels it suddenly is 4 karma per rank, not 2? Are you sure on that?

No, my mistake. May brain mixed up a few things. The correct statement would be:

Nobody would ever pay 66 karma to bring a single skill from 9 to 12.

is correct.

10th would be 20
11th would be 22
12th would be 24

What are the costs for attributes and skill group ranks, so we can get an idea?
