So my current character (non-mission) blade adept just help pull of bringing in a live toxic shaman, so was wondering what people would use nearly 250k ¥ on? We where able to get full body armor (with chem seal and rad shield 6) right before the run. I am trying not to have to deal with foci addiction, so currently have my 6 active foci used (+1 str qi foci (force 4) and katana foci ( force 2)). I was thinking on upgrading SIN and maybe trying to pay off a life style, but not sure what else. Thinking of picking up some other qi foci for some more options when scouting (kinda the b&e character for our group). Our group is pretty casual and very much pink mohawk (we tried for mirror shades, but then the rigger drove his roadmaster through a Yak hideout). So open for ideas or if nothing else what would your main character do with 250k ¥?

Agreed. This looks like a 'training wheels' edition, that you can use to introduce someone to the setting, and then shift over to something like 5E or 4E. Like how D&D 5E is best used as training wheels for D&D 3.X.

Turned in Toxshaman for ¥1 million/4 once.

For me, it depends on the GM, but if the GM rules Suprathyroid Gland stacks with other Bioware that'd be the number 1 thing on my list. Add a Pain Editor, a Barrett 121 and a Rating 6 fake SIN and that's pretty much 250k. Alternatively, sell Reaction Enhancers and get Synaptic Boosters 3 (needs a bit extra cash).

For an Adept, it's tricky since you mention you can't do much when it comes to Focus Addiction. I guess a Roadmaster of your own, or a helicopter, would be a good way to start.
How am I not part of the forum?? O_O I am both active and angry!

Retirement.

But barring that, some sweet ass foci would be useful.

Get more foci, just don't use them all at the same time.  You can bind a bunch of them (as many as your magic, I think), and then switch out which ones you have active (so instead of having Strength on, turn on Free-Fall 4 and jump off a five-story building before activating the Agility one for a speed boost on the getaway).  Besides that, stock up on vehicles, instructors for later things, lifestyle, a better DocWagon account, stuff like that.

Or, join Kane!  Obviously you're crazy enough for him (you took a live toxic mage), and you're skilled enough (again, live toxic mage)!

Haha, yeah, Doc-Wagon is a good idea. Foci is really on the list. I have my own dirt-bike. Our game is set in Denver, so boat is not really an issue. Our Rigger is thinking about more dones/rides. Hell, he lost his Steal Lynx on that run (had the really good LMG from gun h(e)aven 3, I think it is the Krime Wave maybe, fully loaded with ADPS, stupid spirit ate it. Actually, it was a group of toxic shamans. Only captured one, one is dead, other 3 are still out there (jerks). So, my team is still worried about the others (I am thinking pay day   ;D). Also, their might be some fall out from the whole pissing of the Yakuza at one point, but hey gives us more stuff to deal with (are more stories to build).

YES!

Remember, Kane also uses LTA craft and owns an F1 team, so whatever crazy shenanigans you think you can imagine you'd get into, you cannot.

You could always invest in hiring your own team of runners to track those three toxics down.  :)

Retire, or save up another 50k/100k and buy a Fokker Tundra/Fed-Boeing Commuter, then start an airline.

A few buildings in the Barrens, charge a bit of rent. You then have a source of income, and a bunch of defacto guards if anyone comes sniffing around. Not talking outrageous rent just enough to keep from losing money. I'd mostly want the bullet sponges ala The Raid Redemption.

"Take my advice.  Invest"
*laughter*  "Invest?  In what?"
"In gold..."

It depends on whether or not your GM is going to follow some of the rules &c. of the thing, but see if you can't invest in Brokerage X.  30,000 deposit, but then you can earn (quite illegally, thank you) generally between -15% and 25% of your investment per month.  That's money you just can't beat.  Keep socking away your cash, anything that isn't going directly to supporting your runs and basic lifestyle, and when you have more than enough (i.e. Cost + 50%), withdraw enough for a major upgrade.

Why would you invest in gold? Orichalcum is the way to go. Oh, wait. You could get 2 drams of Orichalcum for 1/4 million nuyen. Right... well, the price is probably only going to go up!

... your Shadowrunner-Fu is sorely lacking.  That's from a most excellent remake, one of my Top 5 Shadowrun Movies, 'The Italian Job'.

That's what I'd do, dude.

If there was any money left over, I'd throw it into either A- disposable drones or B- suits of specialty armor that you'll rarely need, but will be the king bad-ass when you do need em.
