== Contacts ==
Cheyenne "Miss C/Missy" Cordel (C5, L4) Probably the only person who knows Silk's background story. Cheyenne manages the Seattle branch of "Red Satin", a luxurious strip-joint and escort service which is a front for an espionage business. All the girls are trained to get information from their clients and Red Satin collects, analyzes and sells that information. They manage to stay out of trouble because they're neutral -they don't use the information to push their own agenda, they steal and sell to and from everyone equally- and because hey, lets face it, espionage happens and there are a lot worse ways to get information stolen than in a bed with one of these girls. Aaanyhow, Silk's talent caught Cheyenne's eye, became her top agent and got a starters loan and the proper introductions to get into shadowrunning. They got emotionally involved, but broke up because of Cheyenne's problems with Silk's declining ethical values. They're still friends, though they keep a little more distance now that Silk's paid off her debts and quit the escort service because or her advancing career as shadowrunner. Still a good source for corporate news and gossip, the occasional job (those too dangerous for her own girls) and espionage gear and training.
Laésa, Elven Smuggler/Influence Group (C5(18), L3) An all-elven group which started out as a political group in Tir, collecting and using their influence to help topple the Tir government. Spread out, moved to Salish-Shide and Seattle (Tarislar, the elven district). The group grew and evolved into a smuggling outfit (people, drugs, telesma etc.) and have a near-monopoly on laés and leäl smuggling. Business, influence, manipulation and negotiation remain their best defense against rival gangs and groups. Silk's made some effort to get them to like her (always using an Elven identity!) because of their potential usefulness with both smuggling and magical training.
'Creepy' Joe, Street Doc w/ Tanamous ties (C4, C3) Street Doc who has been climbing the ladder in Tamanous' organization in large part thanks to the work and efforts of Silk's previous shadowrunning group. Often has work which people might have moral issues with, but is a fair employer and a good doctor who runs his own black clinic.

Title: Re: [OOC] Crash Crew
Post by: HydroRaven on <11-27-12/2101:39>
Here is Francis Parker:

[spoiler]Name: Francis Parker
Alias: Francis
Race: Elf
Sex: Male
Nationality: UCAS
Lifestyle: Medium
Karma Spent: 0
Physical Description: 6'1", medium built, short brown hair, brown eyes. No visible tattoos nor scars.
Personality/background Francis grew up in a lower middle-class family. Nothing out of the ordinary, he went through his youth without any events worthy of note.

Once he hit high school, he met and befriended a classmate named Archie Daniels. Archie had an uncle working for Fuchi. This uncle had a prominent position within his company, but, more importantly, was in charge of the company's "special projects". Archie was fascinated by those projects and constantly asked his uncle for some work. Eventually, the uncle decided to throw Archie a bone and gave him a very simple job. The job required a second person, so, after some convincing, Francis decided to join Archie on their first run.

The run was pretty straightforward: break into a local shop and take back some sensitive information that belonged to the uncle's company. Maybe it was from the thrill of the hunt, but something inside Francis awakened from that first run. He felt an energy he had never felt before go through him. He was able to channel that energy for just a moment, but that moment made him feel more powerful than he had ever felt. The run went without a hiccup and Francis fell in love with the sense of power and the lucrative rewards of running.

From then on, Francis and Archie would go on runs for the Johnson uncle every so often. The runner duo soon needed to get jobs at a higher frequency and started dealing with other Johnsons. As the stakes started getting higher, Francis worked on trying to mould that inner energy to his advantage, trying to bend it so he could use it to help him push his boundaries. Archie started using BTL chips to escape the pressures of the big leagues. Francis got dragged in, but got fried after his first try and vowed never to touch it again.

After a certain number of runs, Archie was starting to unravel. He would needlessly jeopardize runs in order to get a chance at some pay data.

On their last run together, Archie downright misled Francis in order to show up alone with the prototype they were meant to get and collect the run's fee for himself. Francis, furious, caught up with the Johnson and Archie just in time to see them being taken away by Lone Star. As it turned out, the Johnson had been under surveillance and Lone Star was just waiting for the prototype to arrive before making their move.

Francis decided then and there to never get too attached to a single runner and to never stay in the same city too long. He fled to Hong Kong, where he met and trained under Tsubasa Kobayashi, an exiled adept from Japan. Francis quickly realized his skills were severely under-developed and decided to spend the money he had put aside and train with master Kobayashi. After 8 years of gruesome training and a bank account near depletion, Francis left town once more, vowing never to work in Hong Kong in order to keep his privileged relationship with master Kobayashi free from the potential complications runs could bring to the table.

He spent the next 12 years travelling from Seattle to Berlin, through Denver, Osaka, Melbourne and even Cape Town, getting a handful of jobs before moving again. Although he did befriend a few runners, he never got attached. He had learned his lesson with Archie. Besides, he was too busy honing his skills and protecting his anonymity to carry friendships beyond the city limits.

On his last run, Francis was hired for wetwork. He, along with 4 other runners, had run into trouble with the Paris underworld. One of the runners had died on the run and yet another was in the hands of the underworld. The Johnson had asked the remaining 3 runners to extend their contract to the tune of an additional \60,000 in order to extract the remaining runner from the clutches of the underworld. Feeling the Johnson breathing down his neck, he decided to skip town.

Name: Natsumi Kinomoto (Street Alias: Ephemera. Online Handle: Otohime)
Concept: Talented young prodigy
Stream: E-scapist
Metatype: Human
Birthplace/Home city: Neo-Tokyo, JIS.
Birthdate: October 15, 2054.

Positive Qualities: Technomancer, Aptitude (Hacking), Codeslinger (Command), Analytical Mind, Paragon (Black Hat), Black Market Pipeline (10 BP), More Than Metahuman
Negative Qualities: AIPS (rating 3), Flashbacks 2, Low Pain Tolerance

History: Natsumi was born to two corporate wage-slaves one brisk autumn day in late 2054. For the first ten years of her life, all was normal. Sure, there was the scare when SURGE hit in '61, but things settled down eventually. Everything was fine until Crash 2.0. Natsumi's class was doing an assignment by cyberdeck in class that day. Unlike her classmates though, Natsumi's mind was trapped in the Matrix as the chaos washed over it. She didn't come to for three weeks and when she did it was with a severe case of AIPS and technomantic powers. Her parents, both Mitsuhama loyalists, turned her over to one of their mental care facilities. When Mitsuhama began their technomancy research, Natsumi was an easy target to make "disappear" into their secret labs. She spent the rest of the '60s being experimented on in various cruel and inhumane ways. It wasn't until 2071 that she escaped during a breakout coordinated with her fellow research subjects. Lost and terrified, Natsumi took up a homeless existence in her native Neo-Tokyo, trying to hide her powers. She initially fell in with one of the Ereshigoku (electronic tribes) that run the game parlors of the city. She spent a few months hanging around the parlors, picking up the beginning tricks of hacking from watching the contests of one-upmanship amongst the gamers. By night she begged on the streets. She hid her technomantic powers as best she could during the witch hunts, sleeping in narrow alleys with the squatters, always on guard. After a few months of observing she was good enough to best the resident hackers of the parlor. This gained her respect, status. She joined the Ereshigoku in full, hiding her homeless street rat truth and crippling social awkwardness behind a glittering electronic facade. By late 2071 she had made a splash in the local Matrix scene and came to the attention of Otome, a fixer and socialite of some renown. Otome wasn't fooled by the facade. She decided that the street rat with the amazing hacking skills could be useful in her work and gave her a chance to prove herself. Natsumi did just that over late 2071 and into 2072. Unlike some runners, Natsumi invested her earnings into getting off the streets. In time she had built her reputation up enough to begin work with another fixer named Inoshishi, which let her do more serious work. While her work was based out of Neo-Tokyo, she began to take a more expansive view and began reaching out through the Matrix. She joined the hacker's collective known as Warezhouse 24 to begin getting work on her own. At around the same time she hacked her way into the node of a group calling themselves the Carnival of Ouroboros. The Carnival was a group that dedicated itself to the seven traditional deadly sins, which they worshipped as virtues. More importantly, they served as a roving black market and Natsumi worked to cultivate a working relationship with them. In the meantime, she learned to overcome her shyness and project a confident front, which went with the social contacts her work with Otome had granted her. She taught herself three other languages. To this day, she is proud that she's managed to function and rise in the world despite her mental illness and shyness. She's taken on riskier assignments as her reputation has grown, determined to prove, to herself and others, that she is not the helpless mental patient Mitsuhama experimented on. She's a technomancer and proud of it, and intends to leave her mark on the world. If she can hurt Mitsuhama along the way, all the better.

background
Miko was born as daughter of two Shiawase biologists, living in Seattle.  The first 11 years of her life were fairly normal for a corp brat: living in corp housing, going to corp schools with other corp brats, following karate lessons in the corp dojo and more of the same.  This all changed in 2061 when the comet passed.  Another wave of goblinization also touched Miko and she changed into a troll.  Her parents weren’t really pleased with the changes and when she nearly beat another child to death at school for making fun of her (she also had grown a lot stronger) and was kicked of school, they also kicked her out of the house.

It wasn’t easy to survive on the streets for an 11-year old who always had everything she wanted.  As troll she matured much quicker than human girls, it didn’t take long for her to get ‘recruited’ into the prostitution.  She was in there until the crash of 2064, working in a gambling den which also provided extra ‘services’.  She worked mostly for troll men, but also a number of orks and even humans who wanted something special.  Here she was fitted with her first piece of bioware, a sleepregulator, so she could work longer hours.  When the lights and all the computer systems went out from the crash, Miko tried to run away.  One of the guards, a human, tried to stop her, but she simply broke his neck and took his weapons before getting out.  Now she was on the streets again, but this time with more experience.

She managed to get into a gang and it was here that she learned how to fight.  She had already done some archery as a child, which she picked up again.  Now she could use bows which she wouldn’t have been able to lift as a child and bows had some advantages: they were silent and not restricted.  She also got some modifications from a streetdoc linked with the gang, mostly lower level stuff like cybereyes, cyberears and some muscle replacement.

She had been in the gang for just a year when they were attacked by humanis radicals.  In the fight that followed, Miko killed one of the attackers.  He turned out to be the son of a politician and the incident had been filmed.  So it was time for her to leave Seattle for a while.  She got a job with a smuggler crew leaving Seattle through the Cascades.  She wandered from place to place for a couple of years, doing jobs left and right and getting some more cyber- and even bioware, giving her access to things like echolocation and wired reflexes.

In 2069 she arrived in Chicago for the first time, as part of extra security for a smuggler group.  Here she started working security again, until she met the OTU (Ork and Troll Underground), a gang in the Northside loosely connected with the Horde.  She was on her way to O’Hare airport together with a group of one other troll and two orks when they were attacked by a group of the human brigade.  They were saved by a group of the OTU who happened to pass by.  Although all four were experienced fighters and Miko had spotted the brigade soldiers on time to seek cover, without the help they had died and even with help they were all four wounded, especially Miko since she had charged into combat without thinking.  They were taken to the group’s headquarters to rest and while two of the four moved on, the Miko and one of the orks decided to stay.

Miko had been cared for by Erika, the daughter of the head of the gang, an 11-year old girl who had just changed into a troll and was struggling with the changes.  As she had gone through the same thing, she could help the girl.  She also fell in love with the gang leader and when they hooked up, she became the girl’s surrogate mother (her real mother had died a couple of years before in a gang conflict).  While she often joined the gang on their activities, she never became an official member and she also took jobs outside of the gang, often to get nuyen so she could buy things outside of Chicago that were not available in the corridor (like medication).  A lot of this was then traded with other gangs to get stuff they had.  It was also this way she got in contact with an armourer who could adapt weapons for use by trolls.  As most gangers had weapons and armour to adapt, they provided him with a lot of business.

Another thing she managed to get also came from a run she did.  She was hired to protect some organ runners as they moved their goods through the Northside.  By that time she had a very good knowledge of the dangers in Chicago and she managed to get them through without any major problems, even arriving before the agreed upon time.  For this she was paid well, and the doctor also agreed to implant some extra cyber- and bioware at a discount (apparently the organs were from someone high up in the mafia).  Given that they often climbed buildings and also that they had to be on guard all the time, the opted for a good attention coprocessor and climbing claws, which could also double as weapons in a pinch.  There she also got the muscle augmentation and toner to boost her already good strength.  Unfortunately for her something went wrong and she came out of the surgery with a mild case of asthma.  Nothing life-threatening but enough to make life uncomfortable, especially in Chicago where medication was hard to get.  Luckily for her there wasn’t that much air pollution in the city, as there was hardly any activity.  And with a good respirator it was tolerable.

Life went on and while it wasn’t the best, at least it was not too bad either.  They didn’t live in the best of neighbourhoods, but the gang kept things fairly secure and she managed the get enough money to be able to afford the occasional luxury.  But in 2071 Erika disappeared.  She had gone out to get food at a local market and she never returned.  Miko went in search for the girl she considered her daughter by now, but she didn’t get any results.  When she heard from a contact that Erika might be in Seattle, she went back there.  She continued to work as shadowrunner to make ends meet.  While she was hopeless in disguising herself, she was mostly hired as muscle anyways.  With her heavy bow she could shoot almost as far as a lot of firearms, not to mention with the same or higher penetration and totally silent.  For the next year, she followed the trail from city to city, driving around on her customised Harley, sometimes going back to Chicago and her lover.

Vincent Williams : gang leader for the Ork and Troll Underground.  Rescued Miko when she and some other orks and trolls were besieged by humanis.  They became lovers and while she didn’t officially joined the gang, she did work a lot with them, plus some individual shadowrun work.  Miko is still looking for his daughter Erika.

George Maclannen: an Orc armourer in Chicago corridor, he did most of the special work on her weapons and those of the other trolls in the gang.  He also got her some stuff to put in her injection arrows.

Diego Bogetto: a street doc that she did some business with.  It started out as a simple business agreement but over the years they also became friends, sharing a love for combat biking.  Has good contacts to get cyber- and bioware.

Guys, could you please sblock your stats? Makes it easier to view on my phone.

Loneeagle, I take it you're only carrying your "motorcycle helmet" at the moment, not wearing it - that right?

Yes, Durkon is carrying the helmet at the moment. I guess I need to get some contact lenses with Image Link to be able to access AR that way, right?

I don't like that system, because if the text in the spoiler block is too long and you scroll down in it, it closes again.  :(  Really annoying.  So I try to use them only for small things, like a couple of dicerolls.

Spoiler blocks are also infuriating to read from tablet. But hey, the GM gets to declare his rules.

yeah, this forum has bad spoiler settings with "hover to show"

spoiler tags are really useful, but much better with "click to show"

This forum doesn't have click and show spoilers does it? I'd be happy with them if they worked. Tell you guys what, come the 2nd page of this thread, switch back to not s-blocked - right now, I check with my phone at work to see what's been said, and scrolling past those blocks is a pain in the arse. However, once I'm only checking this page for stat blocks, there's no harm in that.

And yes, LoneRandomAnimal :p You're right on the lens and Image Link thing.

Mysteris, look it up under Assensing in the book.

Xetheral, that's up to you - but generally I'd post it up myself; most people here can distinguish between what they know IC and OOC, and I like showing off my backgrounds.

Does Durkon know why Mr Johnson reacted annoyed towards him? Maybe with a Judge Intention check?

Judge Intentions (13d6.hits(5)=4) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3807067/)

Because his usual next step would be to accept the job but negotiate the payment. But if that was the part of his statement that annoyed the Johnson before he would have to go about that more carefully.

Snap's concept, background, and physical description:

[spoiler]Alias: Snap

Concept: Snap has an anger problem. He is well aware of this fact and has gone to great lengths to learn to control himself and learn more self-discipline. He's tried psychotherapy, philosophically-oriented martial arts, hell, even yoga. He's managed to learn how to hold on to his temper a bit longer. But under stress he eventually, well... snaps. In the shadows such a lack of self-control is a liability. Yes, with all his practice and training he can get through a shadowrun that calls for discretion... if everything goes reasonably well. But if (when) the shit hits the fan, Snap reveals his total lack of regard for the concept of 'proportional response'.

The life expectancy of a shadowrunner with such a problem would normally be extremely short, except for one thing... Snap is very, very competent. He's surprisingly intelligent, even when he loses control (his is the cold, implacable type of rage) and will ruthlessly exploit any tactical advantage he can get. He's got a technology fetish to rival any nerdy scientist, which becomes exceedingly dangerous when combined with his MacGyver-like instincts. His strongest edge over the opposition, however, stems from his primary weakness: no one is as prepared as Snap for the sudden transition from peace to violence.

He's successfully fought his way through "impossible" odds enough times that he's got one hell of a rep. Unfortunately that mostly just makes shadowrunning teams stay well away from him. And so Snap, despite his competence, often has a hard time making ends meet. The jobs that call for his particular capabilities are few and far between, giving him little choice but to take the hardest, riskiest work.

Background: Snap's anger problems have a very good cause--he's the end-product of the oldest type of genetic manipulation known to man: selective breeding. Soon after goblinization began it occurred to several less-than reputable scientists that Orc's short maturity and gestation times combined with large 'litters' meant that selective breeding of metahumans was now feasible over the course of decades, rather than centuries. And so, financed by a western Pakistan, the scientists set out to breed super soldiers, subjecting the captives to brutal conditions and then selecting for reproduction those candidates that demonstrated the most cunning and aggression.

Born in 2053 Snap was one of the first (and only) cadre of "graduates" from the Accelerated Metahuman Development program. Ruthlessly trained and then carved up and augmented with cyberware stolen from the dead soldiers of western militaries, they were to serve as the regime's secret weapon. Unfortunately for the program's sponsors, by this time developments in the field of direct genetic manipulation made their decades of work obsolete. Who wants to deal with the psychological problems of traumatized, half-crazed, inbred Orks when you can get a more reliable, more effective, result in a laboratory? And so after several "incidents" involving these unstable soldiers the project was to be forcibly shut down and the subjects liquidated—with predictably disastrous results when the subjects strongly objected to their termination.

Since escaping the AMD program Snap has remained on the move, slowly learning the skills necessary to function on the edge of society. Despite being a member of the Shadow community for five years, he has never officially been part of a team, most likely due to both his ill-tempered nature and his disturbing appearance. Instead he drifts from job to job, usually somewhat desperate to find employers who will hire him.

His penchant for sudden, intense violence makes him excel at diversions and distractions. This talent attracted the attention of the paramilitary arm of the Rinelle te'Kesrae rebellion in Tir Tairngire. Employed as a eminently-disposable asset, Snap came to high level attention after repeatedly surviving the suicide missions for which he was hired. Eventually his involvement with the rebellion came to a head in 2071 when he covered the escape of several cornered leaders of the Rinelle by single-handedly engaging the approaching Tir Ghost teams in a running battle through the streets of Portland. Snap caused so much collateral damage that the Tir forces believed they were chasing their targets rather than a lone gunman, allowing the rebellion leaders to slip away without notice.

Snap barely survived this ordeal, eventually breaking contact with the Tir pursuit only to collapse, barely alive, in a safehouse. Rinelle forces smuggled him to California for treatment: recovery took almost a year of secret hospitalization, physical therapy, and repair of his implants. Tir Internal Security continues to look for Snap, but the resources devoted to the manhunt have died down considerably.

Finally recovered, Snap finds himself in a bad place. He was in a coma for months, and much of the support structure he built for himself languished: safehouse leases expired, online data backup accounts were terminated for nonpayment, and contacts have grown distant. All but a handful of his drones are gone, smashed on the streets of Portland. Worse, his custom high-end internal commlink was destroyed beyond repair and he can't afford to buy the parts to build a new one, let alone replace the valuable programs. Frustratingly, his notoriety from the Portland incident makes employers wary about hiring him, and he's almost burned through his meager savings.

On the plus side, due to his sacrifice Snap has become something of a legend in the Elven underground. Snap's too hot to use in the Tir, but his contacts within the movement are trying to help set him up with work. Heck, he's so well-regarded that he could probably rely on them to support him, at least for awhile, but it would never occur to him to ask.

Physical Description: Inbreeding and crude genetic manipulation has left an indelible mark on Snap's visage. In particular, like many of the inbred, he suffers from Mandibular Condylar Hypoplasia, characterized by marked asymmetry of the face. His disfiguration is accompanied by an almost palpable aura of menace, a trait eagerly selected for by the researchers in the AMD program. Snap shares the slight greenish skin tone common in Hobgoblins along with the characteristic slight build and shorter stature compared to baseline Orks.[/spoiler]

Silk can buy more hits on negotiation than Durkon's roll... can we take his as an aid check or something for when she wants to wrap it up? :p

Title: Re: [OOC] Crash Crew

I for one was hoping Silk could get us a better price. Go get 'em, Silk!
Title: Re: [OOC] Crash Crew
Post by: lonewolf1210 on <12-01-12/0943:20>
just so that you get my reasons on not trying to push the payment:
- Mr Johnson reacted poorly when Durkon mentioned negotiating the payment.
- Silk already said something about finding the payment interesting before he came up with details, which made negotiating that up a bit harder, especially since the details that Mr Johnson put forward didnt turn up much additional difficulties in the job then we expected.
- Everyone else was pushing for more details that, while very important for the planning of the job, werent really necessary for the negotiation of the payment. That could be interpreted as a silent acceptance of the job including the payment. So from Durkons point of view it was necessary to raise the issue now.

Title: Re: [OOC] Crash Crew
Post by: HydroRaven on <12-01-12/1013:40>
Not necessarily. Details might be asked in order to better evaluate the risk involved and therefore determine an appropriate pay scale.
Title: Re: [OOC] Crash Crew
Post by: Xzylvador on <12-01-12/1142:26>
Silk said that she was at least interested in hearing more if it could earn 30k in a night. After that she said the job seemed acceptable.
That's far different than saying "we take the job and we all all think 30k is good."
First of all, speaking for everyone, second of all, allowing no room whatsoever for introducing things like:
Short term, no time to do proper legwork and planning for yourself, a small army of always-present bodyguards, case attached to his wrist, not being allowed to know the contents, the mysterious hazardous effect of opening it... there's a lot of things which could've still been put in as an argument for additional hazard pay and such.

But hey, don't sweat it, it's just IC and I can easily see some people jumping at the chance of making 30k in a day's work. Don't worry about Silk, she'll probably end up hating something about all of your characters sooner or later, but she can hide it very well. (until she poisons you)

OOC I was kind of taken by surprise that there was another face. Hadn't watched all your charsheets (would rather find it out through play, more fun and realistic), hope the overlap doesn't prove to be a problem...
Title: Re: [OOC] Crash Crew
Post by: lonewolf1210 on <12-01-12/1219:27>
First of all, Durkon wasnt really speaking for everyone else, but was simply stating his negotiating position. We are not a team yet but rather a group of individual runners gathered for this job and the Johnson knows that.

But my main issue at the moment is that I designed Durkon as someone very likeable and a natural Leader, who should be able to pull a team together, and if I as a player did something that antagonizes other characters that would be too bad, because he as a character should have a way better feel for the situation than I as a player have.

@OOC: Durkon is a secondary Face  with a couple of spells to back it up. Silk is more specialized and has clearly bigger dice pools. Also I think they have 2 very different styles. Durkon is more the "Leader" while it looks to me that Silk is more "Manipulator/Infiltrator". So while our skillsets may overlap in some areas, I dont think it will be much of a problem. And Im sure Silk wont mind if Durkon casts "Increase Charisma" on her if the situation requires it.  ;)

Don't worry lonewolf1210, people know how to make the distinction between the character's thoughts and the player's. I don't think anybody will have any bad blood against you.

Negotiating - If people want to negotiate now, do so in the IC thread.

Durkon's Judge Intentions test gets him nowhere I'm afraid. Feel free to ask though :P

And of course, there's nothing wrong with a bit of IC needle as long as everyone knows that's part of the drama and nothing real  8)

The more I think about it, the less I believe we actually have the time to drive up there and survey the area in person. Especially since its night. So we will have to rely on sattelite maps for now.

What Durkon is looking for is an ambush spot in the desert. So ideally it would be:

- secluded,
- with some kind of chokepoint where their vehicles would drive through,
- and a position nearby with some cover against gunfire.

We can go into the desert at night.  Both of us have thermographic vision, and I at least have a sleep regulator so missing a night's sleep is not a biggie (Jade has done so before).  Let's do it differently then.  you look over the maps, and I'll check out the sites you identify.  You can even join me in the astral

Well I hope all of you have had a good Christmas.

Mysteris - Here we hit my patchy knowledge of the rules! However, the first thing you will have to do is locate the target's commlink, so start for a roll for that - which I believe would be Scan.

edit: lonewolf, farothel - unless you choose to do something different, I'm going to have Durkon stay in the city and Jade work in the desert, as that's where you appear to be heading.

I'll be with Durkon at first, but as soon as he has identified some likely sites, I'll go out to check them.  Unless the other groups have found a way to deal with the issue in the meantime and we're needed to give support.

Right, well I'll run you through having a look at the sats, and then go from there.

I assume that finding those two spots takes a bit longer than 5 minutes, so I'll wait a bit to give the others time to catch up.  :)

I'll post tomorrow if I don't tonight. Happy new year everyone! :)

So, I'm looking at what Natsumi has and I believe her Analyze complex form would let her search for the commlink signal belonging to our team's target.

I got 5, 5, 6, 3, 2, 1, 1, 2, 6, 5, 2, 4
5 hits on 12 dice (reroll)

Let me know if you want any rolls for Snap to use his Ferret and Dragonfly to build a 3D map of the exterior of the target's hotel, the interior adjacent to the exterior (via UWB radar), and the immediate surroundings. Snap is doing this in command-chair mode, so any rolls for the drones will be Command + Skill. Snap's Security Design knowledge skill might also be relevant, both in relation to interpreting signs of security features and for how cautious he needs to be to make sure the drone's aren't spotted, or their signals detected. (I'm assuming the risk of detection is low, given the hard-to-see drones and the congested EM spectrum in a downtown area.)

Will Snap have finished this before Jade's request for an update arrives? If he has extra time Snap's next step is to buy a hi-res commercial mapsoft of the area (let me know the price) and run a comparison. Any discrepancies are worth a closer look.

As for guarding Ephemera, Snap will have her Roadmaster drive around the city to various shopping destinations chosen at random. In addition to keeping an eye out for an old-fashioned tail, Snap will periodically use his radio signal scanner to compile a list of close-range signals, and then compare successive scans as they drive about the city. He doesn't worry about the details--it's just a big list--but anything that repeatedly shows up and can't be attributed to a known device is potentially a tracking bug or a shadowing drone.

Apologies for the silence and hope you had a good New Years - questions will be answered when I find out what I did with my bloody books.

Still haven't! But I at least have the hard drive with my pdf found again. Yes, my room is rather messy...

Anyway. Update by tomorrow night - my solemn oath on it. Really sorry again folks.

As long as it moves forward, you won't hear any complaining from me  :D

I've even found my book now!

Btw, Durkon & Jade appear to be waiting on responses to you, not me; I'm working on responses to everyone else now.

They're waiting on answers from us, but we can't really tell them anything before arriving at the location and doing a little recon.

I think Mysteris was looking at a analyse roll result, and I guess Xzyl and I are just waiting to get to the casino.

Well hopefully we can press on now....

Xetheral, gimme rolls on that 3d map please.

edit: And it will be an extended test.

I may not be here for a couple of weeks due to internet troubles. Just in case, Ephemera was making a roll to find the target's commlink so she could hack it. I got a 5 on the result.

I'm guessing Computer + TacSoft for making the map? That's 11 + 4 = 15 dice. Here's 10 intervals worth:

15d6.hits(5)=6, 15d6.hits(5)=5, 15d6.hits(5)=7, 15d6.hits(5)=5, 15d6.hits(5)=6, 15d6.hits(5)=6, 15d6.hits(5)=6, 15d6.hits(5)=5, 15d6.hits(5)=5, 15d6.hits(5)=3 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3875291/)

Mysteris, no worries - however, my post was meant to mean she's found it - apologise if that wasn't clear.

Xetheral, thanks - anything in particular you're looking for in this?

1) To have an accurate map for the Tacsoft in case a fight breaks out in the vicinity of the casino
2) To get a partial floor plan of the perimeter of the casino, particularly the exits (using wall-penetrating UWB radar)
3) To note entrances to nearby buildings, side streets, and other features that can be used for cover by a team fleeing the casino
4) To compare my map to commercial AR maps of the same area to note discrepancies in building features/security on the casino or adjacent buildings that may have been suspiciously omitted from the commercial maps

Xzylvador, can I have a perception roll please, and a palming/disguise/preferred roll for the concealed weapon.

Wow, finally got myself a smartphone. Do these things suck to type with.
Perception... defaulting??? Wth. (6d6.hits(5)=5) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3879768/)
Lol! Who needs it with those kind of dice! Will have to check chummer later to see if that's right though

As for the taser in the arm sleeve, she actually means for them to spot it. She's just a pretty young woman carrying it for safety, not some criminal trying to conceal a weapon or something like that. No siree!

I apologise to everyone but Xzylvador and HydroRaven caught up in extended tests while these two run around being all Oceans Eleven... your turn will come, or so I hope!

@silk: crying should be your last line of defense, not your first  ;D  :)

But she's just a frightened girl all alone in a dangerous world!
And if you don't believe that, her last line of defense would be knocking the guy senseless ;)

Oh, Big Peat, lack of sleep makes my English kind of suck and I don't know how to express myself well enough IC, so just to be certain: She's not protesting or anything like trying to convince the guy to let her keep the taser. She's coming along with the guard to wherever he wants her to go in order to stow the weapon away safely, trying to explain why she was carrying a weapon here.
