Title: Replay Rule?
Post by: snowfrost571 on <09-13-12/1957:14>
I apologize if this has been asked before (if so, just provide the link and I'll look it up), but may players play the same mission with a different character?

By my understanding there is nothing preventing this full karma and money allowed. It goes without saying that if there are people at the table who have not played the module you'll want them to be in the driver's seat.

Here's the post on dumpshock where this got re-affirmed. http://forums.dumpshock.com/index.php?showtopic=31584&hl=deadheading (http://forums.dumpshock.com/index.php?showtopic=31584&hl=deadheading)

Great!  Thanks for clearing that up.

Agreed.  As long as the characters change, there is nothing stopping from someone playing through a mission as many times as they like.

Just follow the "don't be a dick" rule (I really want to put that in the FAQ, but don't think I could get away with it).

Don't spoil the adventure for those who haven't played and don't "cheat" and take shortcuts.  Generally you should step back and take a passive role in any game you've already played so that the new players can direct the action and experience things.

You might be able to get away with:  "Don't be a slot."

Or "Don't be a drek-head".

Although, admittedly, we'd be confusing /dev/grrl with talk like this.  ;D

Personally I would think we could put don't be a dick in there. This is a game about shooting people in the face for money after all.

Mr. Johnson:  "In the FACE!  THE FACE!  Was that so hard to understand?  Why did you gut shoot him and leave him laying in a gutter full of broken glass for a half-hour before breaking his neck?"

Pink-Mohawk Shadowrunner:  "Ah, he started spouting off at me.  I'm still getting paid, right?"

Painful but more likely to bleed out quicker.  Gut wounds? painful and slow...

Thank you american media for teaching the important things in life! ;D

Family with medical backgrounds and horror stories here.  Not much on GSW, but a lot on other types of injuries that, well, it doesn't take much imagination to make it a GSW.

I knew someone who made a videogame where a NPC shoots someone in the groin.
The main character was like,
"WTF? THE GROIN? REALLY?" >:(

The Sniper Elite V2 game has such groinshots. They even do a slow-mo x-ray spin around of the hapless victim.

Just wondering what the called shot to the groin would do on males.
Like,
"Minus four to die, deal 7s extra damage"

Actually, from some doctors I saw on TV commenting on damage to, err, that area on a man, no. There will be a good amount of blood loss at first, but the way they described it, muscle contraction in that area has a natural tendency to clamp and stem the blood loss. Mind you, that doesn't take into acount massive damage, say a .50 round hitting that area, that removes the muscles ability to do that...

An old RPG I played in the past, I'm thinking the RoleMaster system, had critical tables; I remember one such table dealing with groin criticals. If I recall right, there was a substantial HP loss, the target was stunned for quite a bit, and any males seeing the hit were also stunned for several turns with 'sympathy pains!'

If you've been hit by a .50 BMG, you can pretty much go home on account of "A Bad Hair Day".

That, and you're probably already dead.  Or wish you were.  :P

If you're standing next to someone that's had a "Bad Hair Day" (Bad Head Day?) thanks to a .50 BMG, you're probably gonna get to go home.

Well... to the hospital to get bits of shrapnel that used to be the other poor SoB's skull pulled out of you. Probably followed by some psychiatric counseling.
