Has Shadowrun canon ever given its own explanations for real life phenomena such as the Tunguska Event or The Bloop?
-
No idea... but then I didn't even know about the 'bloop', so +1 to you for expanding my knowledge of wierd events.

Harley claimed to have caused Tunguska, but he may have been joking.

Though in that particular blurb, he was...more believable than usual.

Well, there is one obvious example: the Thera eruption (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minoan_eruption).
There have also been a couple of significant near-extinctions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toba_catastrophe_theory) of the human population throughout prehistory that reduced our numbers to mere thousands before we could breed our way back into dominance, which could be attributed to previous Scourges if the SR/ED writers chose.

The bloop could have been a Seadraka who was temporarily awoken by a small deep-sea mana spike, but subsequently fell back asleep when it ebbed. It was calling for any others nearby.
