I'd like to gather a PbP group to help playtest the concept of Shadowbrats. I expect to take 1 month or more to gather together the right people to play-by-post (and tweak the guidelines).
For concept & house-rules/ideas see http://eveslist.crisses.org/ChildRunners/HowTo and more banter on the topic at http://forums.shadowrun4.com/index.php?topic=6400.0
I'm looking to have a group of child characters at an underground Shadowrunner "daycare center." Characters should be preschoolers, suggested ages appx. 3-6 years old or equivalent for non-human metatypes* (i.e. ripe for mischief, but not ready to run drugs for the local gangers). Adventures will probably be short, generally non-lethal (kudos & lessons for roleplaying a young child's warped perspective on life and death) and due to the nature of a daycare center it makes it easy for players to drop in/drop out of the game.
Obvious first step is to have a character creation concept. Feel free to bring your characters' dependents or to have several characters (siblings, twins, litters of orcs....) if you can handle giving each of them truly separate personalities. I'm happily available to assist in character creation (and will tweak the guidelines if needed -- the ink is still wet, and erasable).
The games should be lighthearted, fast-paced, short, and hopefully humorous. The characters themselves, in-game, take threats drop-dead-serious, but OOC we should all laugh til our sides ache [Think of the kids who are convinced that the clown at the party is truly evil incarnate...and wait until the adults have their backs turned to step on his foot -- hard, or jab him with a pencil.... lol]. Bonus points for anyone who makes me laugh so hard I have an asthma attack (I won't sue if I need to be hospitalized, I promise... "Some day, you're gonna die laughin'...")
I'm a homeschooling mom and run my own home-based business, so I expect to be able to post --at minimum-- daily or more. Please check-in daily if you're actively involved in an adventure, unless you need to take a leave of absence (in which case, your characters simply aren't at daycare that day/week/month....). If you disappear, your character got cranky/sleepy and went off to take a nap in the 'quiet room'. :) No lessons for you! :P
Much of my personal inspiration is from the Muppet Babies cartoon series -- so beware; if you can't have fun, then this campaign is not for you.
These kids are surprisingly mobile, get into everything not on the highest shelves or in locked cabinets (and often even get into those...), have beginner actual speech but can talk just fine amongst themselves -- with some conceptual barriers of course -- have little idea of right vs. wrong but know darned well what being caught & punished means, and have the capacity of imagination-gone-wild rivaled only by initiate-level mages. They are consummate experts of improvisation (a broom becomes a lance, a pencil a sword, a rubber band a crossbow bolt, etc. -- at whim!) and if they all play make-believe in concert, they can slip sideways into alternate realities (metaplanes) where they could actually be quite a lot more than experience- and height-impaired metahumans. And yes, if they catch sight of a Horror, they'll be bed-wetting until well past puberty.
*equivalent for non-humans ~ 2-5 for orcs, 4-8 for dwarves, 5-9 for elves, 2-4 for trolls.

My daughter helped me work on several archetypes, and they're online. I'm working on the others. These are characters in the age-range that I'm looking to start a campaign for:
Pirate (http://eveslist.crisses.org/ShadowBrats/Pirate) (my daughter plans to play a Pirate character, so this slot is taken)
Little Mommy (http://eveslist.crisses.org/ShadowBrats/LittleMommy)
The Pushover (http://eveslist.crisses.org/ShadowBrats/Pushover) (didn't spend KP yet)
Preschool Geek (http://eveslist.crisses.org/ShadowBrats/PreschoolGeek) (didn't spend KP yet)
Sandbox Bully (http://eveslist.crisses.org/ShadowBrats/SandboxBully) (didn't spend KP yet)
I'll be improving the archetypes, but they give you an idea of what these little squirts might be capable of.
This is a game for creativity, role-play, humor. If you take Shadowrun too seriously, this is not for you.
Feel free to drop in for a couple sessions and leave again (your parents just decided this daycare wasn't 'for you' -- or they only drop their kid off when they're on a big run).
I'm still here to help with character generation. The rules have holes in them, and a lot of room for creativity.
