Want!
Throw a 10-round clip and a smart-link on that thing and *BOOM*, Panther XXL.
-
A grade Shooty

want

Dear $Deity that looks like it has some kick. What I really want to see is the holes it makes, prefereably in something solid.
-
It looks nice, but the real measure of a gun isn't how it looks, but how it performs downrange.

Writeup compares its impact energy to a round from a 20mm "light" cannon, so I'd say its performance is somewhere well north of a .50 BMG. And at $40 a round, it's actually about the same price as an Assault Cannon round from SR4! ;D
Makes you really realize there's a good reason why those things can't take silencers.
-
I would actually say that is a 1st Gen Panther. You'll notice in that vid they said that one was the protoype and it was too "lite" at 50 lbs...........

:o Omg I want! How did it get a sportsman's exception? What are you going to hunt with that? Dinosaurs are extinct.
-
The damned neighbor that plays his music too loud.
...
Oh, wait, I am that neighbor. ;D

There are still things out there that will try to kill you back if you don't drop them on the first shot and are able to shrug off most "typical" hunting rounds. Things like Bears (especially in Alaska!), Rhinos, Elephants, Bison, and Buffalo.
This 20mm monster is a bit overkill, but most of the stuff I'd consider "sufficient" (like a Barrett M82) doesn't have the "sportsman's exception".
-
It's not a 20mm. 20mm is roughly .79 caliber. This .950 which makes it come in about 3 calibers under a 25mm.

as we hear Rufus, the Troll street sam going "Now that's a real mans gun"
-
Great, so the next time if I need some cybered up troll dropped. Or a troll sniper to cover our extraction. Christ on a crutch, we are crossing into Anti armor rifle category here.

A return of the Anti-Tank Rifle? Those didn't work out so well in WWII. Something about broken collarbones.
-
I could see a troll sniper firing a 20mm Lottie...
-
In Shadowrun you can always get a new collorbone. Hell you could probably get a bulk discount.
-
the isrealies, and I think south africa, has 20mm anti armor rifles, sans broken collar bones. Besides think about ww2 relic of a anti armor rifle, + bone lacing equals anti persuit sniper.
-
The NYPD have an anti-tank rifle for shooting down planes that have been hijacked by terrorists. While i'm not entirely certain it will help should the need arise, its nice to know somebody actually thought of it.
-
Barret made something called the M109, it is a 20mm anti-material rifle. Though it is a short barreled (relatively) rifle so it is not particularly accurate. 20mm rounds aren't particularly accurate anyway. Even the .50 BMG is not a particularly accurate cartridge which is why people came up with things like the .416 cartridge which has almost identical terminal ballistics but is more accurate at the longest ranges.
-
Yeah, it's too bad that you can't hit something a FEW KLICKS AWAY with a .50 BMG. :P
