Title: Timing of Lone Star to Knight Errant change?
Post by: StarManta on <07-07-11/2148:02>
Reading the history of Seattle, I can't find any reference to the point in time when Seattle switched from Lone Star to Knight Errant, either in the 20th Edition Core (probably on account of being set before the transition), or in Seattle 2072 (which is more surprising). Is there any more detailed date than "between 2070 and 2072"? (And yes, I do know about the Mayan Cutter and all that, but I haven't seen a date attached to any of those, either)

When I did the Mayan Cutters backstory and how he was dealt with for one of the Missions I wrote, I said that the Contract turnover occurred in January of 2072.  Ghost Cartels takes place in '71 over a period of months, I believe, and Lone Star still has the contract during that.  Seattle 2071 takes place in '72, obviously.  While tehre's no hard data, having the break be at the end of December made sense.  The transition happened over the holidays, and then Knight Errant kicked it into high gear to make their mark, helping squash the Tempo market as well as finally catching the Mayan Cutter after a more than 2 year reign of terror.

Brackhaven kicked Lone Star out of their law enforcement contract almost as soon as he took his hand off the bible at his inauguration as Seattle governor. So late January '72 is roughly when the swap happened.

Curious here Bull, are there notes anywhere as to how long of a contract Knight Errant got during the switch over?

Seattle 2071 takes place in '72, obviously.
To help the confused, the actual title of the sourcebook Bull is referring to is indeed Seattle 2072 ;)
