Title: Question about GenCon events
Post by: JoeChummer on <05-01-11/1932:20>
Hey, all.  I'm going to GenCon this year, and thankfully my visit is longer than 1 day this time around (which means I can attend events rather than just troll the exhibit hall).

Now, I'm an old-school SR veteran from the 2nd ed. days, but I lost my group back in the post-high-school/college shuffle and haven't been able to really get back in the game since, especially since I work weird hours.  However, I've still kept up on the game as much as one can w/o actually playing -- I have SR20A, all of the other core books, and most of the other SR books CGL has published (JMH even signed my 6th World Almanac @ GenCon last year! ;D), but I'm not sure how confident I'd actually be in playing any of the Missions events at GenCon.

A few questions:

--Would knowing about the game world be enough experience to join in even I'm not 100% up-to-snuff on all of the SR20A rules?

--If I do sign up for an event, do I need to have a character created beforehand, or is a character sheet simply given to me?

Most Missions tables are pretty friendly. The Missions campaign is also designed to accommodate all levels of game expertise.

You ideally should have a character made up beforehand, following the Missions character rules in the FAQ.

But if not folks may have copies of the archetypes from the book you can use.
