Whoa! Let me get this straight. Their going to throw more rule books onto this dumpster fire before they actually fix the main rules? And you all are going to actually give them money for it. LOL! Suckers. I don't know why it surprises me?
Seriously, when those NPC cards are misprinted what are you going to do? What good is a weapons book going to do you when the main combat rules need rework? And speaking of the NPC cards; are they going to reflect any errata?
6th edition needs to be entirely reworked before anything can go forward. But go ahead and keep giving them money for garbage. OR... you can not buy their products until they get the message. If they go under, it's their own fault. Like it has been stated somewhere else, Topps owns the IP. They'll license it out to someone else.

If there's anything of value in FS I'll convert it back to 5e. I know it's just going to be copy pasted from 5e though so it'll be light work.

From FB...30 Nights is about to go to print; Firing Squad is expected to go to print by end of the month.
Whoot! I know one freelancer who will be very anxiously waiting to see what we think of those, since they wrote significant parts. Time to tease them a lot about it. 8)
They really should crosspost those things to this forum, or let someone do so. =/

Theoretically, 6th Edition offers a lot of mechanics to make some of the more underwhelming stuff in Run&Gun (f.i., the lame Martial Arts rules) more worthwhile this time. And it could be a place where some of the glaring misbalances and rules gaps can be closed besides the official errata: More nuanced rules for Armor, updated rules for Edge gain (including Drones etc.), bad FA rules, Bad APDS rules, Strengthless melee, actual Shotgun rules instead of the bad joke that is Flechette Ammo...
But I highly doubt that any of the feedback towards the CRB could have made a substantial impact on the supplement in such a short time, even if the team would have dropped that "If we donīt fix it, it was never broken" attitude for once.
Hereīs my prediction for Firing Squad:
- Absolutely nothing about Edge limits
- Absolutely nothing about Armor...
- ... besides the return of Milspecc, which will be or just as insane as in previous Editions.
- Absolutely nothing about Strength being a dumb stat besided unarmed combat...
- ... except maybe some MA options to take Strength totally out of the equation even for that :P
- Lots and lots of guns and weapons, which, apart from one or two obvious uber-alternatives, will just be copies of the ones in the CRB with some numbers pushed around.
- If thereīs still MA in the book: Most MA Techniques will be gated behind an Edge cost, most of them so high that they will never be used in action.
- The 2-3 most interesting pieces of crunch will have their tables botched or missing entirely
- No rules that use Wild Dice
- Bonus: Still no flamethrowers or other spray weapons (TBH, thatīs very likely going to be in the book. But honestly, it wouldnīt surprise me if it wasnīt ::))
- Nice, flashy artwork (Gotta give credit when its due)
So yeah. Go ahead, proof me wrong :P

"This just in: All future SR6 books considered broken for not removing a mechanic I dislike. More at 6."

I really don't think this the thread for raging at the quality. There is the whole rest of the forum (and other places on the net) for that. It would be nice if this thread could focus on availability information.
edit to add: this was posted when the above posts showed in the "Upcoming Shadowrun Releases" thread.

Agreed Beta. Anyone that wants to complain about new material they haven't seen yet and have already decided is below their opinion-filled palate, can comment on it here. The announcement thread is for announcements only.

Fair point. Got carried away there.
Also, itīs not that thereīs some faint hope left under all that sarcasm: If just a few of the "predictions" are proven wrong (I mean, at least the flamethrowers? Right? ::)), the supplement might actually be able to improve the game instead of just adding moar stuff .

Can someone please explain to me what this thread is about? I have been out of the loop a tad for the last few weeks and am confused. Did they announce a new printing or something?

This has nothing to do with rules that I like or dislike. It has everything to do with rules that are broken or require further testing. If the base rules are problematic, then yes, everything that comes after it will also be problematic. If you believe that Catalysts is properly editing Run & Gun, or anything else they have in the pipe, then I got a bridge to sell you. They already admitted that they have deadlines to meet, editing and play-testing be damned.
If this is your ideal edition, and you're happy to pay for this mess, no one's going to stop you. But then don't be surprised when the books and cards are screwed up. However, if you seriously want to see quality improvements in your favorite game then withhold your money until Topps gets the message loud and clear.

This thread is a result of when some product announcements went up and that original thread was derailed by complaints about the overall product. This was split off from that thread to keep it on track for product announcements.
