Title: Form Factor Fun!
Post by: FeydMourne on <06-03-16/2318:41>
I have a Shadowrun character who is addicted to gear. Well, I say that so I don't have to admit that I am the one who is addicted. Seriously, I have compiled a separate document for my character which is currently up to 8 pages...and it is solely for her gear. I cut and paste a lot of the mechanics and descriptions from the books to make referencing the information easier, but I also try to find a cool picture for each and every item.

Maybe I am more of a visual person...yeah...that's it.  ;)

Anyways, one of the cool things I try to do with her gear is find a neat way to conceal any Restricted or Forbidden gear she has, and the easiest way I have found to do this is through an extended use of the Form Factored feature from Data Trails [page 60]. I am having so much fun that I was hoping to make it into a group activity! So I propose using this thread to share any ideas you might have for Form Factoring an item to make it look like something else. I'll go first!

Tag Eraser form factored to look like a curling iron.

What else you all got?

Form Factor Anthro Drone with an improved Pilot and a high rating agent.
Now you have a hacker with all relevant matrix skills including Hardware.

Now you can do something else instead of hacking  ;D

I love the cane[cyberdeck] form factor. It would have to be some aristocrat with a top hat and monocle!

Let's change gears a bit.  ;D

What could Plasteel Restraints [Page 447, 5E Core Rulebook] be form factored to look like so they wouldn't draw unwanted attention?

I'm in the middle of building a pink-mohawk-style hacker named /bin/bash who specializes in Attack actions over Sleaze actions. I participated in a conversation about the efficacy of the combat hacker, and while the math makes it good, I want to try it myself. If I don't implant the deck, I'm totally stealing the silver lion head idea. =i)

Brute Force Hacker plus Ninja Vanish = Lulz.  Brute Force to get into a Host.  Alarms flashing everywhere.  *poof* gone.   Couple minuets later after the Matrix Search is complete to find your target file, *BOOM!* more alerts, Ninja Vanish and Disconnect.  Works good for an Elf Technomancer hopped up on Novacoke too.  Many, many Lulz.
