Title: GM LFPlayers 5th ed. SR online using Roll20
Post by: Kelsfar on <02-19-16/2207:38>
Evening Wageslave:
Ever tire of working the 9-9? Stuck within the constrains of that little cubicle wishing that last cup of soykaf you had would have prevented the departure of your soul from your comatose state like body? Do you aspire each hellish day to one day get that "exec" job that has been posted for over a month now? Perhaps even that the amount on your weekly credstick would double once you attain "exec", but then to what end? Only so that you will remain within the confines of the corporation to string you.....

                                             <<<<<ERROR>>>>>

Your monitor goes fuzzy then fades out to a pitch black.....your computer still hum's with life, though you now begin to question the monitor's current state of defaulting and likely where it was actually made.....Hong Kong, or perhaps Amazonia? After a few heartbeats the monitor blinks back to life, only this time the screen color is a bright turquoise and the only thing to be seen on the screen is a blinking _

It begins speeding along on its own accord before your swollen sleep deprived eyes filing in words

Evening Chummer! (Irish accent/written)
Appears to the matrix lad that you need a bit of a break from the screen and by logging into the matrix searching "US" out, well now you found "US". Eh, I'm not going to give you dumpshock by telling you how or why just now that this is happening, just consider it as a token of love, aye! To unplug from the CORP yer arse needs to do but a few things....NO ye drekhead don't write this drek down....go by memory...now where was I? Aye, Chummer ye need to leave now, meet point is at thee ole Stuffer Shack on 8th and Wellington at 0900 from there you will meet Mr. Johnson, he will grant ye an interview and decide if ye are worth your meat and can survive in thee "shadows".
Luck to ye mate!

P.S. -Strawman

********A Message from DM Kelsfar**********
Hello and greetings to those that have looked into my upcoming Shadowrun "campaign". I would like to first start off by introducing myself, followed by my creds and such and a little about me. At the end I will state my conditions to play, what I'm looking to RUN as a DM etc.... Thanks for you time and consideration.

-Sessions: Will be held online every Wednesday during afternoon or night hours (Shooting for 7pm-11pm (EST.) but subject to alter dependent on the group majority to work out best). It will be up to the majority to set an exact time slot in which we will play.
It would be ideal to be a U.S. resident in order to play, I am ok with Canadian players so long as your able to make session times. This has nothing to do against Euro's or other countries but the play time is crucial for everyone showing up and having a good head on there shoulders. One of my former online D&D campaigns took part with mostly Euro players and it was difficult for them to stay up so late and would tend to fall asleep towards the end of each session or dropping before it was over, regardless of what was going on and I was just rolling out of bed into a 6-8 hour session.
So Online campaign I am looking for folks that can meet up every Wednesday during afternoon to night hours, I am pretty flexible over most time slot's for Wendesday sessions. I will provide everything needed to play online if I recruit 4 players (5max) including the tools needed to play online all FREE using Rolld20! I have a TeamSpeak3 server as well that will be used for mic talk. I will not be using cam for sessions just voice chat.

-Now about me:
I have been DMing D&D for about 23 years and have DM'd and played many different settings of D&D such as Dragonlance, Ravenloft, Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms, Planescape and other various games like Pathfinder and Shadow Run. I am a 36 year old male that resides in Virginia and loves D&D, playing and DMing. I also have had the pleasure of being a developer on persistent worlds in video games like Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2, I last left off with a Neverwinter Nights 2 PW known as "Sea of Dragons" seaofdragons.com ,there I was the developer as well as the lead world developer that took place in the Forgotten Realms setting. As mentioned before I was a DEV for a persistent world which to your favor I create also the grids and maps in which you play on from scratch and to my own design adding rich looking grid maps that add ALOT of flavor to the grid and need less vocal description of rooms/areas/ and surroundings since its visually for the most part....there, hence speeding up playtime.

-What will the campaign be based off of you ask: ???
Well we will use the 5th edition Shadowrun rule set. You do not need to be a veteran to play, and I encourage even first time players of Shadowrun to join, my only requirements are that you are of the age of 18 years old, willing to dedicate yourself to the session each Wednesday as much as humanly possible (I will have house rules set to allow for folks to miss a couple sessions due to life being sucky that they cannot attend, which will grant full "Karma" even though you were not able to make it, after 3 sessions you will lose any Karma gained from that session missed and every session after that you miss going forward).
I am a story teller of all things, I like to suck everyone into the game through my weaving of plots, schemes, adventures, and other various things that draw you into your PC (Player Character). As a DM I like to personally encourage each PC to develop his own personality, goals and agendas and I build the campaign around all the players with a main goal in the horizon, the main goal will be clouded with many small and off coarse goals. My style of DMing is all about the players and developing there characters, from start to finish. The world is for you to carve out!    <<Update>> Core and Run Faster will be usuable manuals until I pick up more legit ably as I build up my collection.

-Final Statement: "Hmmm never heard of Shadowrun becoming a "campaign"??? Aye, This "Campaign" for Shadowrun I will be running will be a ongoing adventure, not a one or multiple session Run but a massive series of "Runs" that make it into a campaign, so a longer story and plotline that only ends with picking up the next story/plotline with your same pc or perhaps a new pc.
I will fair warn, this is my first Shadowrun campaign I have run since 2nd edition Shadowrun, which would be about 18 years or so since I last ran Shadowrun. I am new to 5th edition Shadowrun and am looking for MATURE opened minds and players that can be tolerant as I learn this latest edition. I have done my homework, and have the general Idea of the rules etc... Though It will likely take me a few sessions to see the mechanics pan out in game versus reading.

-How do I join?: Well I go a little beyond Rolld20 on this aspect in my search for the BEST players I can put together to make an exciting campaign. By the "Best" I'm looking for the right type of players that are mature, dedicated, willing to have a blast and are team players! I will hold a personal Skype interview with each and everyone looking to sign up in order to find the "right" players to come aboard. Please reach out to me if you are interested in joining via my email address at marty.joyner79@yahoo.com  . I assure you all I am able to check my email mass majority of the day.

Eager to get a Shadowrun campaign off the floor and going and I can assure it will be a blast and I will be taking Shadowrun to another level with it not being just about "Runs" but also roleplaying will be heavy and your pc will feel real and with a purpose.
Later Chummers!

I am, in theory, interested in this game.

I have never played an RPG online before, but I have had difficulty finding live Shadowrun campaigns, so exploring an online group in intriguing.

However, playing every week does not appeal to me. I would be more interested in an every other week setting. Regardless, my Wednesdays are booked until sometime in May. My Tuesdays would open in a couple of weeks if something changes.

7-11 EST would work great for me.

BTW: I am based in Northern Virginia and have played a few sessions of Shadowrun. While I am no expert, I at least know how the game is played.
