Title: Binding spirits with Buying Hits

So the FAQ touches on this, giving instructions that you're encouraged to do your spirit binding at the beginning of the session, and talking about the infeasibility of Buying Hits to bind spirits, while also not explicitly forbidding it....How would that even work, mechanics-wise? It's an opposed test, so....?

Basically you do opposed buying hits, which means if you don't have a higher dice pool than the spirit out of the gate, you can't even succeed, and means that in general you're going to have a very low number of hits/services at the end (Unless you have a ludicrously high dice pool and/or are summoning a very low level spirit).

You buy hits, and the spirit buys hits, with a [Force] limit applying to your hits, and your first net hit resulting in binding the spirit, with every net hit beyond it giving bonus services:

Aha, that makes sense. I was hoping it would be as clear as that.
