So, I'm a mage and I'm astrally traveling. WOOT! I'm havin' so much fun flyin around and around!
-------meanwhile, back at the lodge----------
My angry wife walks into the room and is pissed I've been astral for two hours on our anniversary night, so she does what any sensible wife would do and hits me over the head with a frying pan, knocking my ass out. Errr.... What happens to my astral form?

Since damage done to one is felt by the other (Physical and Astral), I'd say that you'd know you were hit and take the damage, but you'd still be astral. When you go back to your meat body, you'd immediately fall back unconscious until healed.

So as long as my wife does not get carried away bashing my brains out, and my physical dammage meter is still in-tact, I can astrally travel my anniversary away, for a number of hours equal to my magic rating?
I guess my point is, that stun dammage causes wound modifiers while astrally traveling and nothing more?

That's the way I take it. If you physically die while traveling, you stick around in the Astral for Magic×2 hours before fading away. So, I don't see why you wouldn't stick around after being knocked out.
But once you go back to your meat body, then you fall unconscious (for realz) and wouldn't be able to go back to the astral until you got healed.

You know, that's as fair an interpretation as I can find. . . watch out for the divorce notice she stapled to your chest, though.
