Shifting around metatype and magic priority, and putting the points into Magic will give you 5 instead of 4 Magic, only sacrificing a measly rating 2 skill, which is a much better deal karmawise. It would give you the option of upgrading to Improved Reflexes 3 and gives you an extra dice for attribute boost.

Sure, but those 10 karma are better spent buying a dump stat up from 1 to 2, or buying 5 level 1 skills, or taking positive qualities, or bonding foci, etc. In my opinion.

Lack of a fake SIN should be a pretty big penalty when you're an awakened character walking around with a decent amount of restricted gear and no licenses. Unless you live and run in the Barrens, maybe. On top of that, he's not just fake SINless, but he's a SINner to boot. That 5-point karm bump comes with consequences.
Anyway, it takes 4 karma to purchase a decent rating Fake SIN (3). 5 if you want to get licenses too.

depends how badly you want to get any kind of public service. even getting on a bus (you have no car/bike/whatever) is impossible without at least some basic sin. you're pretty much consigned to the barrens and z-zones without a sin mate, you might wanna think about it a bit more.
