The rules:
all dice rolls to be made using invisible castle:
http://invisiblecastle.com/ (http://invisiblecastle.com/)
(please register and use the campaign name of "the wrong crowd" when rolling)
when rolling, use the following format:
5d6.hits(5)
this tells it how many dice to roll and to count the successes (rolls of 5 or more)
so agi 6, pistols 4, smartlink 2 would give you an input of: 12d6.hits(5)
this gives an output of: 12d6.hits(5) → [3,2,1,1,4,4,6,4,3,2,3,6] = (2) so 2 hits on this test

the roller then gives multiple lines of output underneath the dice results.
copy and paste the bbcode line into a post, surround it with the spoiler tags like so:
[spoiler]12d6.hits(5)=2 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4178796/)[/spoiler]

if you want to use edge on a test, the input changes slightly: 12d6.hitsopen(5,6) will keep re-rolling sixes for you
please also state the limit for your roll in the comments box ie ( physical=5) to make it nice and clear.

have fun!!!

Here I am
edit: added background and fake SIN name

Name: Yoshiro Takahura (adept)
Alias': Bo
Fake SIN: Jirou Yuzuki (4)
Race: norm, japanese
Age: 29
Height: 1.63m
Weight: 65kg
Eyes: Braun
Hair: Black

Mentor spirit: Wise warrior (+2D to leadership, 1 free lvl improved ability (blades), iuf acting dishonourably --> -1 to all actions until atoned

Description:
Yoshiro 義郎 can be easily mistaken as the normal sarariman especially when he wears standard office suits. Only on second glance one can recognize his physical powers - strong but still agile. His whole appearance fits more to a megacorporation than to the shadows - a result of spending his youth and early adulthood in the corporation of his father. When he was younger he used to have a short temper but since he follows the path of the wise warrior Yoshiro is a calm person who first observes before he acts.

Background:
Yoshiro Takahura has been raised in the safe surrounding of his father's mid sized company. Always protected but also constantly under pressure meeting his father's (Ayumu) and mother's (Chiyoko) opinions about lifestyle and education he was introduced early into an easy corporate life. Despite the pressure Yoshiro found always the time to follow his need for entertainment and to spent his father's money on alcohol, drugs, expensive parties and women. But there has never been any doubt about that Yoshiro will take over the business one day - until something happened what completely changed Yoshiros life. On a business trip with his mother as representatives of Takahura Inc. both his mother and himself were kidnapped by a bunch of runners. Yoshiro, still half drunk after a long night of partying, couldn't do much to protect them. After some dark days and nights full of fear and terror in a narrow basement room somewhere out in the Barrens he found himself finally freed - and his mother shot dead. On the paycheck of his father some other shadowrunners had made an attempt to rescue him and his mother but the situation escalated. All but one of the runners who came for his rescue and his mother were killed. The reason for the kidnapping still remains a mystery but there are some clues.

Despite being free again Yoshiros life did not go back to normal. His guilt ridden father mainly accused him for his mother's death as he was not able to protect her while being full of drugs and alcohol. Utterly ashamed and grieving about his loss Yoshiro left his father and the company and stayed a while at his best friend Thomas Barlow (contact) who tried to save him from drowning himself too much into cheap alcohol. After some horrible weeks of self pity and destructive thoughts Yoshiro was at his end. Just before pulling the trigger a ghostly human shape manifested in front of him telling him to shrug off his guilt and prepare himself. From that moment on this wise warrior was his mentor spirit and his guidance out of his misery. The wise warrior told him not to be blinded by the obvious but look behind the curtain. Apparently the kidnapping was staged by a high ranking executive in his father's company. Reason? Unknown. Yet.

Since then Yoshiro - Bo - follows the path of the warrior to find his mother's murderers, the people behind all this and a way to redeem himself in the eyes of his father. Driven by this Bo has chosen a life between light and shadow trying to get the best out of both worlds to find the responsible for his misery.

It had been a sticky, humid day in Seattle.
August had been unseasonably hot and it had made every fucker in the city a damn sight more irritable. If they weren't pushing you out of the way or skipping the queues they were starting punch-ups in the bars.
Still, it was good for work. you'd had no shortage of offers recently.
This one had piqued your interest however, it was the first one in a while you'd taken where you weren't working alone.
The fixer laid it out simple enough, rich guy wants you to get his daughter back, but you just knew there would be a twist..

The Meet

Both of you sat in the expensively attired office with the "Johnson". His desk seemed to go on for ever, an AR terminal and trid projector dominated the centre of it and a cigar lazily smoked away from an ash tray to your right.
The chairs you sat in were obviously hand-crafted and upholstered with real leather. This guys stunk of cred.
Johnson leaned over the desk and offered a baby-smooth hand in the limpest, lamest handshake you'd felt in a long time, he clearly didn't want to embrace your "type" in his office, though you sensed an urgency, or desperation about him.
He settled back down into his seat and adjust his suit and tie and began to speak, his eyes darting between the two of you.
Good evening to both of you, I have an offer of work for you as the Middleman will no doubt have explained.
It relates to someone very special to me, whom I fear has fallen in for the wrong crowd.
Johnson stands up and paces the room, walking over to holographic wall painting; it's shifting image changing from a young girl playing outside in the sunshine to an attractive late-teen collecting her college diploma onto a young adult with a beaming smile. He observes the pictures, pauses and turns back to you, picking up the cigar and taking a deep drag on it, its silky aroma filling the room as he exhales.

I made sure she never wanted for anything, she had the finest in life. The best education, the best car, the best job.
None of it was good enough.
She constantly rebelled, such a spoiled brat really, staying away from home and mixing with the wrong people.
I cannot allow her to ruin her life any longer, but I physically do not have the means to track her down and put an end to her conniving, petulant boyfriend and his evil operation.

Johnson takes another long drag on the cigar and takes his seat, opening a drawer in the desk and retrieving two items.
He places a manilla envelope on the desk, alongside a cheap looking commlink.

Her name is Anastacia Lucia. She "fell in love" with some crack-dealing fuckwit from the wrong end of town and has disappeared. She hasnt been seen in weeks and won't return our calls.
She talks about this mystery man as if he is a demi-god, you can read the diary entries for yourself on the commlink.
I want you to find her, bring her back to me and destroy this crack-dealing bastard. I want the names of his suppliers, and I want his operation ruined.
Make sure he never touches my girl again.

The fee is 7.5k each, with a 500NY advance to cover any "procurements" you may need. The envelope contains a recent shot of Anastacia and a brief on her history and personality.
You will contact me on the commcode inside the envelope once you have information on the dealer, and again once you have secured Anastacia. I will provide details of a safe haven for her. You will deliver her to me at that address and receive your final payment upon delivery.

He takes a long stare at each of you as he takes one more large inhalation from his cigar, exhaling the smoke into the air above you both.

Any questions?

Abigail had been following the Johnson with her pale blues, face impassive as stone, as the filthy roundear laid out his rap. She'd pretty much ignored the other human, her fellow Runner, sitting next to her, going only as far as acknowledging his existance with a faint nod upon meeting him at the fixer's. This job had potential though. She'd been too long without decently paying work, and maybe, just maybe, this Run would be her ticket to the good times. Heh. A girl could always have dreams, yeah?

"Yes. Do you require physical evidence of the boyfriend's .. Destruction?." She asks, one pale hand sliding the manilla envelope towards herself, nimble fingers picking it open, one thin eyebrow raised slightly as she peers at the content. A brief glance is aimed at the Johnson. "I ask this only, Sir, because in my experience, sometimes, simply being told that someone is .. Gone. Well, it is just not enough." A slight smirk briefly appears on Abigail's lips as she says this, her voice soft and carrying a certain note of respect.

Abigail had decided on a muted, almost invisibly so, wageslave's business attire. She wore her hair in a somewhat fashionable haircut, nothing flashy of course, and she wore faint makeup. She'd not gone unarmed to this meeting, since she was theoretically a private security consultant, Erica Banner, and thus her SIN permitted the carry of personal firearms and/or concealable handweapons.

[spoiler]My apologies for posting so slow. I spend most of the weekend helping a friend build a new porch for his residence  :) Also, I had to decide on how to represent Siren, since I haven't done much PbP.[/spoiler]

They say it is raining a lot in Seattle. Well, it has been a while since the last rain and the city and it's people could use a cool off. Hot weather, high humidity, and guns in the streets don't go along well - at least not for long. The news are full of recent shoplifters who did not stay cool enough and killed the poor storekeeper or got themselves killed - or both. With a swift gesture Yoshiro closes the newsfeed on his commlink and replaces it with the latest stock infos. 'Like a rollercoster these days...' Also the brokers don't keep cool heads either. Yoshiro adjusts some of his assets, considering focusing on soy beans again rather than semiconductors. Something or someone is stirring up the market for electronics. Well, investing in soy has always been safer but far less lucrative than electronics, automotive or other fields with high focus on research and development. After a short consideration Yoshiro decides to take the risk and go for an investment in a subsidiary of Novatech. 'Let's see how this goes...'

Suddenly the commlink makes a small beep informing about a newly received message. Another one from Moose. Good fixer, good pay. Working for him has been much more .effective than playing broker lately. And working for him helped also a lot of more learning about running in the shadows than watching graphs and lines pointing all the way down. Another gesture brings up the message. The last job almost got Yoshiro killed. Almost. This time  it is different though.  Moose's Johnson particularly asked for a small team. So no soloing this time. Some backup would be nice. He texts Moose back telling him he is interested. A few moments later Yoshiro has the details for a meeting with Johnson in front of him. Nothing complicated. Some poor guy lost his daughter somehow and the team shall rescue the damsel in distress.  The adress shows him that this time he probably does not have to worry about gangers on the way to the meeting - not in this suburb.

A few hours, the usual morning physical training and a ride on his Suzuki later Yoshiro find himself sitting in this damn cozy chair listening to the Johnson talking about his lost daughter. He should have taken more care about her. A shitload of money doesnt always help. well you can buy people to do your dirty work, drek you can even buy loyalty and friends if the pay is high enough. but buying the love of your spoiled teenage daughter seems to be something more complicated.

Yoshiro glances carefully over to his possible team mate. Elven girl, platinum hair. Cold as ice, but her precise and catlike movements show professionalism - and possible cyberware. Nothing else to tell about her. She didn’t even seem to realize him yet. Only a brief nod. ‘We will have to deal with team building measures later i guess’.

‘Before we come to the payment details I indeed have some questions. Do you have any idea where to start our search? When was the last time you talked to your daughter and did she say anything wht could help us? Do you have the name of her boyfriend? A look into the mentioned diary of hers and maybe some DNA samples of her later on could also help. I know, a lot of questions but we want to be sure we find her asap, soka? Ah yes and I guess we are only talking about destroying the boys business, not his brain, right? Primary objective is to return your daughter.’Yoshiro raises a questioning eyebrow towards the elf.

[spoiler] I also just finished this. It took a while. but it is great fun. lets see[/spoiler]

The Johnson looks at Abigail in deep thought, clearly having not had this part thought through at all.
Physical evidence yes, electronic evidence? No. bring me an Index finger. at least if he were to survive, it would severely inconvenience him having to get a mechanical replacement.

Addressing Yoshiro;
You'll find most of the relevant details on the commlink. As far as I can tell they've been spending a lot of time at Delirium in lower downtown. He appears to operate under a Handle rather than a birthname, he is referred to as Juno in her diary entries. Yes, I can provide a hair sample for DNA matching should you require it.
Correct, I want my girl back as the primary objective. secondary objective is to identify his "business" premises, report them to me and proceed to "disrupt" them as fully as possible.
If this is agreeable then I wish you the best of luck and look forward to your reports on their whereabouts.

"I have no further questions, Sir." Abigail moves slightly on her seat, telegraphing her desire to stand. It's not impatience that motivates her actions, merely her desire to be quit of the opulent office, the Johnson and foul stench of the cigarsmoke.

Post by: Csjarrat on <08-21-13/0946:24>
Very well, I want her back by Sunday night. this gives you, what...? two and a half days. Yes.
Good luck then.
Johnson turns his back on you both as you retrieve the folder and commlink, returning to his cigar and looking out the window at the skyline, the shimmering heat haze obscuring the furthest of the buildings.
You get up to leave and the expensively suited guard you saw on the way in opens the door for you, leading you out onto a staircase before handing both of you your advance payment on a certified credstick.
Stepping out into the street is like stepping into an oven; the cool air-con of the office sharply contrasted by the sun-baked concrete in the heat of the afternoon.

Somehow I have missed the opportunity to negotiate the payment, well my bad. Stepping outside into the hot weather Yoshiro suddenly regrets to have left the air conditioned building. Yoshiro looks over to the new aquired team mate and reaches out a hand: Name's Bo by the way. Seems we have a job to finish. Shall we find a more secret place to discuss our plans? He checks his commlink and sets a countdown timer to Sunday. I could offer a club not far away from here where we can meet. It is real quiet at this time of the day and the owner knows me already. Two and a half days is not much time, let's see what we can find out about this Delirium place and Juno. We should have a look into the commlink, too, as soon as we are off the streets

"Gah! One more second in the presence of that morkhan and his disgusting cigarsmoke, and I'd have done something regrettable!"
Abigail stops besides Bo, and then takes a quick breath to regain her equilibrium, before she turns her almondshaped eyes on him. She blinks once, then twice, before taking his hand in a solid grip. "Call me Siren." Abigail shakes Bo's hand exactly once before letting it go. She runs her other hand through her platinum bangs with a sigh. "Yes, someplace with a bar sounds about right. And if the owner knows you, so much the better." Slightly more relaxed than she was a moment ago, Abigail now has a faint lilting accent. "And yes, we have some work ahead of us, so we must plan accordingly."

With a brief nod, that cannot deny it's japanese heritage, Yoshiro agrees.  I have my bike right around the corner.  Here, let me give you the coordinates of the club, name's Noc Noc.He sends the destination via his commlink and waits for Siren's approval. So ka ? Yoshiro goes the few meters back to the main road where his black Suzuki Mirage is waiting for him. Nothing special about it, at least nothing additional special. It looks incredibly fast and in fact it is. Seeing Siren's reserved behaviour and reluctance a small fear of paranoia fills his guts. She has the envelope afterall...  Sliding onto the Suzuki seat he shrugs off his bad feeling of betrayal. Whatever. Coming?  He asks over his shoulder, pushing the e-starter button on the machine.

___Tobur____
as the engine fires up, so does the on-board computer.
You are immediately surrounded by a flood of AR; status indicators, engine readouts and your gridguide interface.
Punching in the code, Gridguide informs you that you are about 10 minutes from your destination.

"Noc Noc, got it. I will meet you there." Abigail says. Already she had a map of Seattle up on her AR. "Yes, this will do. Here's to hoping the roundear doesn't try to f*ck me over .."
Abigail's Toshinden was not parked far from the meet. She'd stashed her somewhat beatup combat-bike, favoured by outriders for its speed, along with some of her gear, and as she slides unto the seat, she pulls the datacord from her 'Jack and jacks it into the dash. Instantly her AR comes alive, as does the bike. It's with a wide grin that she guns the engine, spinning the bike around, and sets off. Her destination is the Noc Noc, detouring only to find a quiet spot to change her attire.

After a short ride Yoshiro arrives at the Noc Noc and parks his bike at the usual place The parking fee of 5 Nuyen is charged automatically when entering the lot. At the entrance of the club a lonely Orc in a black suit standing guard. An ugly but familiar face. His name is Al if Yoshiro remembers correctly. Before entering the building Yoshiro checks the surrounding if there is any sign of the elf yet, but nothing. He decides to wait inside, where it is much cooler and the drinks much easier to get. Yoshiro goes through the entrance, nodding to the security Orc (Yoshiro is unarmed, only wearing a protective armor vest under his normal clothes, making the heat outside even more unbarable). The entry fee is 20 bucks, but with one free drink and some nuts included. Electrolyte is always good. Inside the coldness coming from the AC embraces Yoshiro like a welcomed jump into cold water. Instantly his AR floods him with special offers, menues, ads, and the usual overdose of virtual information. Yoshiro checks the AR for empty seats in a calm corner before he switches to passive mode. He instantly finds a nice niche far away from everyone else but from where he still can observe the entrance. As expected at this time of the day the club is still empty and only a few guests sit at the bar.

After sliding into the niche with it's black artificial leather seats he picks a cold nuka coke as his free drink from the menu. While waiting for Siren he already starts to work and tries to find something about Delirium - the place where this Juno guy hangs out - in the matrix. We don't have so much information. Hopefully the commlink will give us more when Siren arrives with it.  Waiting for her he nibbles the nuts standing in front of him and searching the matrix for information.

Yoshiro gets access to the matrix using his Renraku Sensei commlink. He searches for the name "Delirium" but has some hardness to find anything useful. Actually he gets too many hits with this search. He tries to narrow down the term a bit and adds "Seattle" to the search, maybe this will help

[spoiler]10d6.hits(5) → [1,5,6,1,3,1,3,3,3,1] = (2). I still cannot register at Invisible castle and I also could not find our game there[/spoiler]

The results cascade into your AR feed, ordered by assumed relevance to your search parameters.
The first hit is a link to the Delirium Nightclub's site, Its broad description telling you to expect a wild party, open most nights till 4am, with a 24 hour license at weekends.
It plays host to a wide selection of international talent on the DJ circuit and displays a list of upcoming gigs, several popups asking you for permission to upload these dates into your calendar and whether you would like to purchase advance tickets.
There is a small link for requesting access to the VIP area, available for private bookings, personal events and corporate meetings. "Details available on request"

"Oh, I assure you, it's all natural." Slipping past the Ork bouncer with catlike agility Abigail smiles wickedly at the security guard past the entrance. She'd taken a short detour to change, and gone was the dull wageslave appearance, and in its stead stood an Elf in a tightfitting matte black bodysuit, armaplast padding in selected places, kneelength combat boots (steelcapped of course), and a somewhat battered-looking UCAS armored combatjacket (Currently dialed to a dark green camo pattern). She still wore her hair the same, loose and jawlength, but it'd been ruffled by her bikeride from the meet, and now looked wild and free. Finally, Abigail had a Predator in a quickrelease rig under her left arm, and a tanto combat-blade under her right.

"I'm not messin', Chica, I need info on a dealer, celénit's name's Juno. Hangs at the Delirium. Hit me back when you got something." A message is blinkclicked and sent to one of Abigail's old goganger contacts, a serious adrenalinejunkie by the handle Vector. She'd rode with Abigail in the past.

Spotting Bo in the back, Abigail strides across the near-empty club and slides into the seat opposite him. She favours the asian man with a brief nod and a faint smile. "I apologise for the wait. Traffic's a killer." She orders three fingers of scotch from the AR menu, whilst fishing out the battered comlink the Johnson has given them. "I've already sent out a few feelers, and I assume you have as well, so I think we should look this thing over."

[spoiler]Celénit = Nonelf, insult. [/spoiler]

"You disappoint me, Vect. This is biz. Don't make me regret saving your ass that time with the Halloweeners! And you damn well know I'm good for the Nuyen."  Abigail frowns for a brief instance. Her eyes are still on the old comlink, fingers prodding at buttons.

[spoiler]Going with Intimidation 6d6.hits(5)=1  (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4193625/) which failed. Dagnabbit! ^^ (I also can't register/login on Invisible Castle)[/spoiler]

Flicking through the commlink, you can see it has been used primarily for games, browsing and mesaging.
Most of the history is pretty banal; trix nodes of j-pop bands, DJ's and Trix shopping sites.
The gaming section shows an active subscription to VR pilot 3, but it hasnt been logged into in over a week.
The diary section shows several entries over the past few weeks,
Each one reading like a lovesick 15 year old wrote it.
It was faily clear that anastacia was obsessive about juno, she was wowed by his pull, he knew the DJ's, knew the bouncers and was generally recognised wherever he went.
Being the girl on his arm had propelled her to new heights, and although not explicit, she reffered to "new experiences and feelings"' maybe she was referring to drugs? Maybe it was to sex, perhaps both? Either way, you expect she wont be too happy to return to daddy.
The last entry mentions that she is looking forward to seeing MC Callixo tonight at delirium and that Juno had got her and two friends on the VIP list.

Looking for known DJs

[spoiler]knowledge DJs 3d6.hits(5)=1 (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4193665/)[/spoiler]

Yoshiro also has a look into the diary and the contents of the commlink. As expected. This won't be easy, I can handle Orcs shooting at me but teenage girls who think they just found their true love is maybe more I can handle. [Siren do you find any comm number or anything else about Juno? We should also get onto the VIP list for tonight's show of MC Callixo. Any idea how we can extract her and make Juno a miserable business day? MAybe we should observe them first and hit later when they are at a calmer place?

__Tobur___
You recognise a few of the better known DJ's on the upcoming gig list. Clearly Delirium has some status to pull big names like that in for performances.

___Ecthelias___
Oddly enough, there are no commcodes, previous messages or any identifiable methods of contacting juno on the commlink.
INT + LOG test please

Yoshiro orders another coke and looks curiously over to Siren. In the meantime he gets back to his own comm and tries to get more information about VIP access at Delirium. There was a link to the VIP area and something about more information on request... He also tries to find out anything about the Delirium and its security

When the waitress is back with his third coke he asks her: Hey....  he looks quickly at the name tag at her shirt, frowning  ....Mandy.... do you know if your boss is already around here? I would like to ask him something.  Yoshiro adds a tip of 50 Nuyen to the bill for the coke.

[spoiler]Yoshiro wants to ask Sayid, the owner of the Noc Noc (connection 2/1) if he knows something about Delirium, the security and possible drug scene over there. He knows it is a long shot but hey, worth a try[/spoiler]

Sure thing darl, he'll be in in five minutes, I'll send him right over
Mandy looks at you with flirty eyes when she sees the size of your gratuity [spoiler]couldn't think of another way of putting that phrase without hitting innuendo lol[/spoiler]
Can I... get you.. anything else in the meantime? Mandy plays with her hair, making solid eye contact, clearly wanting you to ask her something..

From experience Yoshiro knows that it is important to seperate business from private life. At least for the beginning. Sighing inwards he replies with his most innocent face domo aregatou Mandy but for now I am happy with with my coke and Sayid.Business you know... He returns to his comm but also eyeing Siren any success with the girl's comm?

Your search takes you back to Delirium's node, you were indeed right, there is a commcode provided to call and request access to VIP list.
You copy it to your to-do list.
Otherwise your search is fairly unhelpful. Judging by the number of complaints of rough handling by the bouncers in varying nightclub review forums, they had a "non-nonsense" attitude to trouble makers, but nothing stood out as exceptional regarding their security arrangements.

Toshiro keeps the link to the VIP reservation in mind. But before making any moves we need more information. He orders another coke and looks over to Siren again
