Hey everyone,
I have a question about a possible houseroule:
A groupmate came up, that he would like that a skilled gunsmith is able to remove a gas-vent system…
By RAW this is not possible.
Would you allow it, or maybe only allow during purchase or is this balancing wise problematic, since he plans to put a suppressor on an Ares Alpha I gues.

Wait, why can't you remove a gas-vent system? From what I understand accesories can be added and removed pretty freely.
If it's a builtin one, it's not actually incompatible with a surpressor by RAW.

the old integral vs internal debate if its part of the stock item (bought as is in the item description) then no you cant take it off like take the ingram smartgun X for instance its got a gas vent and a suppressor all in one its apart of the gun if you take say the HK22 and slap on an aftermarket gas vent 3 then yes you can take it off using Armorer + Logic also of note the Ares Alpha recoil compensation bonus is due to how its made due to its expensive chamber design

There is a compounded issue here between core rules and Run & Gun.
The Weapons Accessories section of the core rule book states that "once installed, a gas-vent cannot be removed." But the modification rules in Run & Gun states that you can add and remove accessories and modifications.
I would personally allow it, using the same test as installing one.

since when does an Ares Alpha Combatgun come with a Gas Vent ?
If its a Barrell Mounted Add-On he can switch between a Gas Vent and a Suppressor

Well forget about the Ares Alpha, may he asked it for another weapon, but since you all seem to have no worries allowing this to players, I may go with the crowd.
