As per my previous post I have tried Savage worlds with the lore of shadowrun...
it was a breeze of fresh air.
Character generation took 30min
Mass combat was easy. ( Food fight was actually fun !!)
I could call Game Master decisions on the fly.
I loved it and so did my gaming group :)
...Do not get me wrong, I love the shadowrun world and setting and will continue to buy the 6 ed books for the backround information, the fluff and stories
But I do not think I'll ever use shadowrun rules again...
Game mastering was fun and did not feel like work
Thoughts ?
How do you feel about crunchy detailled rules vs. ease of play scale ?

Hehe, that's the experience 6e was designed to be.

The mechanics in themselves form a significant part of Shadowrun to me, because they represent specific setting parts, so I can handle a more streamlined edition, but the very flow of a lot of mechanics would make it hard for me to handle in a different system.

Lol maybe we will all end up in savage run.

Are you just dropping the lore in, or following a specific fan-build of the rules (aka, Savage World by WrathofZombie, etc.)?

Just dropping the lore in. ;) We just did a quick one shot ( which would have taken lots of prep time in 5th) and played food fight... Now that my gaming gruop is okay with the change I'll convert the necessary basics...

I kind of like the crunch myself, but it’s all good. ;)
I’m interested to see how the new version of Interface Zero turns out...always figured that would be a solid setting for an SR game powered by SW.

Ran some Savage IZ and found it worthy successor to an old CP 2020 game I ran. Have high hopes for Cyberpunk Red.

"What's the right edition to play Shadowrun in?" "The one your group runs with."
That includes using other systems, and Savage Worlds is a wonderful system and the Pinnacle Entertainment Group folks are a bunch of great dudes!
