So I was reading through Dragons of the Sixth World and I saw that the people on Shadowland were thinking the reason Kaltenstein fought Lofwyr and Nebelherr, was because these two were trying to prevent Kaltenstein from jumping in to the SOX to save Feuerschwinge. But the problem is the fight is said to take place in May, and the Sixth World Almanac says Feuerschwinge was shot down over the SOX in September.

So is this an error with the time of the fight in one of the books, or is the motivation for the fight not Feuerschwinge being shot down?

6WA was hardly the epitome of canonicity, so I'd say it's wrong. DotSW says that Feuerschwinge started rampaging right after awakening in May, which heavily implies (s)he was shot down shortly afterwards.

The German Street Legends entry for Kaltenstein only refers to the fight happening in 2012, but not when except that it was several weeks after Kaltenstein appeared.

Given the sources, DotSW is going to be the more correct version.
