Just a curiosity, any clue as to where Las Vegas went to in this interesting future? It's one of my favorite places on the planet, so I wonder (and hope) that it's still somewhat thriving. If not, maybe possibilities of an underground uprising in what was once the Nevada desert?  ;)

As far as I know it is part of the NAN.

Sioux territory I think.

Is it still the mass of flashing lights and casinos that it was before? Or is it something entirely different now?

This may be outdated, so keep that in mind. There is some good information here though that will answer most of the type of questions you seem to have. :D

Call me crazy, but there needs to be an updated bit for fleshing out Vegas as a Runner's Haven. It seems like so many interesting things could happen there. I get this image of a big smuggling job gone wrong, and your entire team is stuck in the middle of the desert with a busted truck filled with stolen goods, the neon lights shining salvation just 3 miles away. And raise curtain...

Hmm... No real mention of it in 6WA either. Just a note of a Casino opening in 2051.

Maybe they can do a write-up on it in Attitude! :D

I agree, this would be a good city to further expand upon.

In NAN, it was in the Ute Nation, so now it should probably be PCC. It was still the biggest casino city in the world in 2050 and will probably still be in 2070.

We played a whole campaign primarily set in Vegas (as we also live here) and is fun to do things like that.  Not cannon by any means, but we wrote up new casinos... was lots of organized crime, very few corps... oh.. and North Las Vegas (separate city) was overrun with HMVV and contained within a giant wall :)  good times.

I'm currently running an online game set in Vegas.  Its going well so far.  I've made a few things up, such as chips basically being the equivalent of certified cred, that give it its own flavor.

And don't forget the frequent appearances by Elfis -- pointy early, rhinestone and gyrating hips.  ::)

Anyway, I've always thought this would be an interesting setting for SR and have often wondered if there was any official material covering it. It sounds like a splendid setting. If I wanted to run a game with a gambling theme though, I'd probably go with the Mississippi Gulf Coast: I thought the mix of casinos, CAS politics (the South will forever be backward), runner opportunities and proximity to New Orleans would make for an interesting setting. Plus I know the area well since I lived there for years, and it would be fun to try and imagine it in 2070.

The chips as cred is a great idea, Digital Cowboy. :) I'm gonna use that.
