As a carryover from Pathfinder, we play SR on a grid with typical 1-inch squares. 1 inch = 1 meter scale (this typically results in me needing to use a second grid)

Any suggestions for miniatures I can buy online? I'm really going for clean, unambiguous appearances vs. high-quality art. No interest in painting them myself. A variety pack would be best (e.g. 5 humans, 2 elves, 2 dwarves...) but I can buy them individually if need be.

It appears there is already a SR miniatures game I was not aware of, but the pieces for that are typically super expensive and unpainted (like $4/each). I'm totally okay with cheaper ones made of cardboard, like the ones in the Pathfinder beginner box.

There is a thread somewhere here that talks about minis. Don't remember which forum it is in, but one of the cheapest ideas is lego minis, pictures included.
Spooky, what do you do this pass? Shoot him with my thunderstruck gauss rifle. (Rolls)  8 hits. Does that blow his head off?

I recommend Lego Minis!

Easy to customize, easy to transport and store, handy to use and abstract enough to not provide (a lot of) distraction at the table.
We're also considering using Brickforge as a means to beef up our use of Minis with custom equipment and the like.

or look around on e-bay for figures.  There they can come already painted.  Price is variable of course.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

After an hour of research and following links, I've narrowed it down to these:

-Brickforge, for generic cheap stuff
-Toysmith army men for generic soldiers (not cyberpunk themed obviously)
-Copplestone "Future Wars" for nice matched sets (requires painting)
-Reaper's Chronoscope line for higher quality specific stuff (requires painting)
-Ironwind Metals for authentic old Shadowrun minis (requires painting)
-Wargames Foundry for more nice matched sets (painted?)

If you are looking for pre-painted minis, I would recommend Horroclix. Ebay would be your best bet. You can find all sorts of "flats"/cardboard standees over on DriveThru RPG and its sister sites.

However, for metal minis I recommend 15mm minis. The scale makes everything cheaper, and gives you more range/depth on the tabletop. You can put down a map that is 4 square blocks. Most 15mm minis come in packs of 8 or more. For $10 you can get 20+ minis. At this price point you can get entire security teams, police departments, HTR teams and their rides (http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=319804) and loads of civilians/employee/gang members, and many cool "runner" minis. The vehicles are cheap and plentiful. You can get 100 civilian cars on Ebay for about $16. Need a more sci-fi look? Try http://clearhorizonminiatures.com/shop/shop/ground-vehicles/nemesis-light-strike-vehicle/ or http://khurasanminiatures.tripod.com/15mmscifi-vehicles.html or http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/antenocitis/g-o-t-vehicles-15mm-1.html or http://www.darkeststargames.com/spec-sec.html. You can find cheap models/display pieces on EBay, as 15mm is also 1/100 scale.

A good place to start looking is http://dropshiphorizon.blogspot.com/ which has loads of appropriate companies to choose from.

here's the last topic we had on here:

I personally love the infinity models.
Lots are soldier types but they've got really nice biker gangs, drones, techies and sword wielders.
They're not so hot for meta choices though as they're either human or alien, so finding a good troll might be a bit difficult.

Ah, that took me back - I'll have to dig my 8 or 10 miniatures out - I think I have the runner set and the yakuza.

I recommend Lego Minis!

I love this idea!!!  8)
