I'm looking to make a Ork (Oni) Shinto Mystic Adept
High schooler that had a bad run in with a vice-principal /Insect Spirit Shaman.
His school was ran be a prejudiced human who like have students do reports like why did the orks blow the tower up. The stupid and violent trogs where only good for meanal labor and sports. Teach them only in Or'zet and only what they 'need to know.' The vice-principal said she could make the goblins into well behaved students thou a 'few' would die. No loss, right. Kidnapped at school, escaped the hive, locked up by the school guards and shipped back, escaped once more but did not go back to school this time.

Your init is 5, even if you crush improved ref spells, your init won't be amazing, and will be very RNG, but the bigger issue is your base dodge pool is 5 dice, sure resistance pool of 25 is nice, but not getting shot will take a lot farther a lot faster. Armor pen is everywhere.
I'd recommend drops the power points in str grab critical strike (unarmed) and some weapon focus knucks, to help push your pool to 20, and you will only lose 1 level of damage while gaining up to 3 pts for pool. Use the 2.5 pts you freed up to get some combat sense, that would give you another 5 dice, 10 is big step in the right direction.

Just hopping in to second Marcus.
You'll be much, MUCH safer with BOD 3 REA 5 than BOD 7 REA 1. You'll dodge more often and you'll be landing your hits first more often. It gets even more important with 1 edge you have.

Yep. Dodging beats damage soaking because you only need to beat an opponent's hits when dodging, while for damage soaking you are resisting a (usually high) base damage value plus net hits, which is a lot harder to do. This is why so few builds make Reaction a dump stat - it is not only a component of initiative, but also part of your vitally important passive dodging.
