The group's decker hasn't hacked incredibly much yet so I haven't really decided how much I wanted to bother tracking it. I might make the Signal rating somehow address that as it is not really that relevant without the global personal wifi wireless network.

You could make the Signal rating similar to the old I/O Speed rating.

Yeah, that's sorta what I had in mind, thanks. I'll have to review the rules. Our next session is in a couple of weeks and it will likely get Matrixy. If we cross this bridge, I'll let you know how it worked out.

I think it depends on how true to 2050 you want to be. If your a purist your better just going with 2e, if your fine with just calling a commlink and cyberdeck and other window dressings 4eA is fine.

Fundamentally there's little difference between hacking and decking.  It's just the descriptions of the nodes and how Matrix surfing works.  You should be able to easily use 4th Edition mechanics with the 2nd Edition topography and other system set-up.
