As the title says, I'm looking at installing a response interface gear into a set of clothes without a helmet and thus want to use a hat instead to hold the trode component of the RIG. Seems reasonable enough to me. My real underlying question is what the capacity of a hat should be?

For those interested in why I would do such a thing, my plan is install the RIG in a nightshade dress with a stylish hat and then wear a softweave second skin with a feedback system underneath. The combined effect is a full body AR experience that can be recorded as desired.

Now you don't have t go full VR to walk in the wireless world. That's the idea anyhow. Feedback and comments welcome.

Well, I'm sure you can have trodes styled as a hat.  It seems like something that has to be possible, I mean, I can't see people walking around in public with just a net on their head and not trying to find a way to make it look more appealing.

I wouldn't give the "hat" capacity though; I'd treat it as a slightly more expensive version of the trodes.  It's just tropes "in the shape" of a stylish hat.  It'd still probably be recognizably trodes (your hat would have a data port, for one) upon even just a knowing glance, but I don't think it'd seem out of place at all.

Jeeze.  It would almost sound stupid until you realize we're talking about an immortal elf clown sword fighting a dragon ghost in a mall.

Not sure what a RIG is but Trodes can be worn under a hat (for sure).

SR5 p. 216 Trodes
A headband or net worn on the head that creates a direct neural interface. Popular models include an attached hat, wig, or other headware. Short for “dry active electrode array.”

Yes, nothing is stopping you from putting them in a beanie, Federico or anything like that.

Slap two soybeer cans on it with a flexitube and you are good to go. 8)
Do you believe in a greater WIRELESS, an Invisible(WiFi) All Seeing(detecting those connected- at least if within 100'), All Knowing(all online data) Presence that we can draw upon for Wisdom(downloads & updates), Strength (wifi boni) and Comfort (porn) or do you turn your back on it  (Go Offline)?

RESPONSIVE INTERFACE GEAR (RIG)
This stuff is kind of fun, especially for those logged in to access live broadcasts during Desert Wars engagements, urban brawl games, or combat biker matches. It’s a full sim-suite and monitoring system. As of July 1, it also carries the official Miracle Shooter line, which comes with the feedback software to give soft simulations of hits during Miracle Shooter matches.

Is the Armor mod version of a Sim Rig, which is an Electronic Accessory.

Simrig: This simsense recorder can record experience data (sensory and emotive) from you or whoever is wearing it. Simrig rigs are used to make most of the simsense chips sold on the market. You’ll need to have a working sim module (with the DNI interface) to make a recording.
