Meet Seargent Ryan "Cinder" Laird:
Half-Irish half-Nepali member of the Kathmandu Police forces. One of the last idealistic cops in the country. Since his own nephew (Tavi) has vanished he has taken a special interest in the street rats of the city. He's heard rumors about a certain temple and asked two of his not-so-legal contacts/friends/people who owe him to help with an unofficial investigation...

(I used Made Man to represent his active duty within the police:
COST: 5 KARMA
As a minor member of an organized crime syndicate, the character can occasionally call on its resources. At the time of purchase, select a crime syndicate as a free Group Contact (see Group or Organization Contact Options, p. 176). As the character is an actual member of the syndicate, Loyalty is increased to 3 instead of starting at 1. This status also allows him to use the syndicate as a reliable fence for stolen goods (they get thirty percent of the items’ value) or as a source for stolen and restricted goods (ten percent price reduction and a +1 dice pool modifier for the Availability Test). Everything comes with a price, though. The character is expected to participate in syndicate work, taking at least twenty hours of his time every week in a standard campaign, and costing the character one out of every four weeks in Missions play.)

Like you asked, I did a new one. A human generalist, mystic adept, decker and a bit of a drone controller.
karma is 10 body 1-->2
and 10 positive qualities. 

I still got to do knowledge skills and perhaps play just a tiny bit with the skill allocation.  Overall this character decks, spell-cast summon, impersonate other people, and operate drones + drive.
He is an old timer, definitely not the one to be in a gun fight. I imagine him as an old con-man, that did all sort of crimes over the years, from cyber crime to street cons and identity theft. I imagine him mostly as overwatch unless we need to impersonate someone. He can do that very well. His only combat option is gunnery - so he definitely belongs in the car.

He is no pixie - he decks a little bit with his RCC, that I added a stealth dongle to, but he is not the dedicated decker type and cannot perform all kind of decking stuff.  (This is why I think of perhaps changing the skills a little bit. )

@gilga What exactly do you mean with "my AR persona"? Can you "leave" the place you are in AR? I always thought you can only do so in VR. Anyway, you can call and open a speech & visual connection, but I'm not sure there is something like an AR persona. I might be wrong, though.

Now idea really totally into fluff realm, wanted to make an amusing post. I honestly do not see mark working for that Johnson tough.  She was late and acted in a disrespectful manner. Is that remotely acceptable for someone that supposedly wants you to work for them?

I don't know. I mean, every shadowrunner is an individual, but I'd assume that especially the underdogs (like the bunch we are) can't be too picky with our Johnsons. FIrst, we need the money and the rep. Second, it's considered bad manners to turn down a Johnson without good reasons. So, unless you can afford bad rep and no payment or are way more proud than the typical shadowrunner, I think normally they would swallow their pride and accept the job. And you're not working for her personally either. She's just the one who delivers the job, after all. You're working for some corp.

Well the way I see it we are not exactly working for some corp. We know noone in this corp and have no way to establish connection. The corp does not know about us only Johnson and in case of stress the corp may ditch the Jhonson also. So the way I see it, will you do something illegal for a stranger you do not trust? I'll probobly won't because I feel that this relationship requires some basic respect and trust. The Johnson knows enough about the runners to get them into many troubles. Perhaps even get them killed. I do not think that somebody say ... psst easy money and all the runners just pile up to cross the law.

Then again, we may be hungry and desperate as the Jhonson seems to treat us.

I can't speak for Cinder and Mark, but for me it would be logical to accept despite Miss Chingsons lack of respect.

Firstly because I think everyone of us has something he desperately wants from her: Cinder really wants to save these kids - which should work better if he has a powerful con that at least somewhat backs him up and provides him with a team and so on, and Mark and Scarcrow just really need some cash.
So the last two kind of have to swallow their pride if they don't want to end like literally in the streets, and I guess if Cinder has to decide wether he saves the kids on his own, or Wether he plays the devil's advocate, getting better chances to get the kids out of there alive, I guess a good cop kind of has to swallow his pride there. (Again: only my view)

Secondly, I think all three of us are probably used to people treating "lower" people (like us, but most of all staff and streetkids)  like shit and definitely to people being late, so I think our in-game-characters wouldn't be as thrown-off as we are.

Or do you want to continue without Miss Chingson? I personally don't see Mark and Scarcrow risking their lives without some profit.
