Since Run Faster has been published we want to restart our campaign with new characters.

I've tried to rebuild a character from 4e that relied on natural talents with only a bit of bioware to improve his initiative.

So, meet Hank the Janitor.

Hank's got a problem. No, actually he has a lot of problems: He is an Ork, he is 35 years old, he recently lost his job as a janitor, he lives in a really small apartment in a really shitty part of town. He also is a grandpa to an adorable little Elf girl (genetics are funny in the awakened world, especially if your Ork daughter marries an Elf). Now the little girl has become ill and needed serious attention from medical professionals. Neither Hank nor her parents had that kind of money, so Hank had to ask some very friendly men to borrow quite a big sum of money.

Hank is - despite his age - in prime physical condition and if he wants to stay that way, he'll have to pay at the end of the month.

But one of the friendly men heard of Hank's set of particular skills, skills he earned through a lifetime of bad decisions as a juvenile criminal, soldier in a few not very well known wars and cleaning specialist for various businesses.

The only thing working for him besides that is the 10 years outdated piece of ware that was to intricately fused to his spine to remove after he left the army and the fact that no-one ever asks the guy with the mop what he is doing here.

He is about to go on his first real run after ten years as an honest(ish) citizen - and he definitely feels to old for this shit...

Concept:
Hank is an everyman with a keen eye for details and quite good at disguising himself as a lowly worker at whatever place he has to enter. This is helped by his ability to palm security cards and passwords from inattentive coworkers.
If violence is needed, he prefers to liberate anything heavier than his taser from an opponent. But he'd rather sneak, climb, lie or mop his way past his obstacles...

I'd welcome any suggestions to improve this concept  :)

Why is he green?
Please excuse my English as it is not my first language. Misunderstandings are inevitable and smell peachy enough to be forgiven. Thank you :)

What did you spend the Karma on? I like to try to use Karma for any level 1 skills. 1SP vs 2 Karma, it's way more efficient use of your Skill Points if you use them for Rating 3+ skills and specializations (7 Karma vs. 1 skill point)

You should have Dependent Negative Quality

Maybe get another low level skill linked to Intuition, like Tracking.

I would probably take different skill group then Electronics 4, I would go with Athletics.  Don't think you would ever need 13 dice for climbing very often...

where are you Contacts? there is quality for that if you don't plan to have any..

I personally would take skills priority b(3) and race b(3) to have Edge of 5. Edge 1 sucks. You only have 39 points of skills anyways..

Karma went into money 8, Logic 10, Martial Arts 17, there is really not much room for anything else. With 46 Skill points you are bound to have at least 4 points left just to activate a few skills.

The dependent quality is not entirely what I want, since it's a regular drain of money and time which doesn't quite fit my intended concept (Just because you have family doesn't mean they have to stay with you)

Electronics is useful if you are a janitor and want to gain access into closed areas. I plan to buy Jury Rigger at the earliest opportunity

I forgot the contact: He only has one: A Loyalty 1 Connection 5 Fixer who originally brought him into contact with his money lenders

Only problem I see with him is that he's only got 5 dice (assuming wireless is on the laser sight) for the taser.  It's a pistol, and a single shot at that.  Not gonna be able to use your automatics skill.  I understand the skill fits the background better (and him having the rock-n-roll guns makes sense as well), but taking the taser doesn't do him a whole lot of good.  Almost anyone is going to be able to dodge shots from him :(  Getting even 1 point in pistols will change that from a 5 to a 7 which will let him occasionally hit something that isn't actively trying to dodge him.

Love the concept though and think you've got a hell of frame here.

I agree, besides you only used 39 Skill Points. Are there more skills you forgot to add? I would take Pistols (Tasers +2) 1

I would specialize in all you skills if you can, especially if you have the points.

If you got the extra skill points, two points into pistols (1 rank, 1 specialty) is an effective increase of +4 dice (because of defaulting penalty). This should put your pool around 9 before laser sight (10 with wireless).

Otherwise, really like the feel of the character.

Agreed. This looks like a 'training wheels' edition, that you can use to introduce someone to the setting, and then shift over to something like 5E or 4E. Like how D&D 5E is best used as training wheels for D&D 3.X.

Turned in Toxshaman for ¥1 million/4 once.

Dammit, yeah I forgot to write down the pistol skill. Wouldn't make much sense otherwise if he wanted to use other peoples gear.
Is corrected now.

If you want to increase his badass factor, give Hank a ponytail and change his profession to cook ...  ;D
