Title: Current Playable Shadowrun: Chicago Missions
Post by: The Masked Ferret on <09-08-14/1227:18>
Below is the base list. I will be keeping the page at http://georgiasrm.com/currently-playable-shadowrun-missions/ (http://georgiasrm.com/currently-playable-shadowrun-missions/) updated as more come out.

For Shadowrun Missions: Chicago, below are all of the possible missions you can play, or have been available.

Currently Available Missions:
Into the Shadows:  a two (2) hour character creation session with four (4) players and one GM.  You will earn karma and nuyen (albeit not much).  Designed for players who wish to make a character.

The First Taste:  a two (2) hour "one shot" for six (6) players and pre-generated characters (or that brand new character from your Into the Shadows session).  NOTE:  karma and nuyen only count once for any given character.  Designed for those who just want to play Shadowrun, but don't want to commit to making a character.

Have the rules for Prime Runners been released?

The basic Character creation rules for Prime runners were included in the FAQs.

The Prime Runner missions are not available yet.

Ah, so it's only for characters from Season 4 who are transferred over.  Alas.

If you have a character with Karma that was from Season 1, 2, or 3, I think they can be played as well. That is the theory I am operating under, anyway.

Thanks for the list.

I really wish we had some kind of ETA on Missions 4 and beyond.  We went a year and only got 3 missions (plus CMPs and the Sprawls and Firing Lines).

While the 8 in the 2 books are great to have, there is a distinct lack of missions outside of cons right now.  I REALLY wish we had more than 3.

My group is done with Sprawls and Firing Lines and will be starting back up on Missions next month.  We'll be out by January if 4 isn't published and  out by February if no 5.  It's an issue.

I get it, stuff happens, but we can't afford to go to Gencon or Origins or any other cons, we be broke/poor bastards.

Unfortunately ETAs are not given out due to life happening too often. But I know Bull is giving it his best, and you could always poke Ray if you need more material.

https://www.facebook.com/SRMissions

The Missions Facebook page is where I do semi-regular updates of "where we're at" with projects as well as occasionally posting preview artwork.

I don't have the time nor the energy to constantly post the same status updates to multiple forums, so I utilize the Missions Facebook page as my central general info dump-point, and reserve this forum for more specific Q&A stuff.  So go follow the facebook page.  I'm still vague about releases until I know we're ready to release it, because sometimes stuff gets done on my side, and sits in the queue over on the final production side for weeks or months, depending on art, final approval, and layout.  I'm only one cog in the machine, and sadly Missions is slightly lower priority for our limited production staff than other products.

Per the SRM Facebook page on September 19th: https://www.facebook.com/SRMissions (https://www.facebook.com/SRMissions)

Quote
SRM 05-04: Liberation and PM-01: Killing Pawn are both slowly making their way through the machine, as is an updated Missions FAQ that will cover Street Grimoire!

And I thank you for it, The Masked Ferret.

I just wish Catalyst would use a media you don't need to sign up for an account to be eligible for. RSS, for example.

I for one flat out refuse to associate myself with a company like Facebook. They're worse than Aztechnology, for Pete's sake! :)

ETA:
Aha!
https://www.facebook.com/feeds/page.php?format=rss20&id=100489553336840

Success!

ETA2:
I really wish Catalyst would just update their own site instead of a third-party website like Facebook, is what I'm really saying. Now that I have my RSS feeds neatly lined up in Outlook, however, I won't complain any more ;)

For anyone wanting to do the same so you don't have to touch Facebook directly:

Oh, I nearly forgot to mention our "new" events.  Thanks to player and GM feedback, we've split Welcome to the Sixth World into two separate events.

We hope you will enjoy the new events and feedback is always welcome and appreciated!

Any more news on when we can expect to see more CMPs in release? Down here in the deep south of the US of A (Murica!) there aren't any convention games held that I'm aware of.

I am curious - where in the deep south? I know SCARAB offers some in SC and there is (at minimum) Dragon*con in GA.

I'm more than 800 miles from Atlanta and over 1000 miles from Columbia, unfortunately. No registered Shadowrun CDTs in all of Texas as far as I'm aware, so I've relegated myself to the fact that I'll be playing CMPs when they're released to the general public.

FYI, there are three active Shadowrun Agents in TX.  One in Fort Worth, one in Keller, and another in Ravenna.  You can check www.catalystdemos.com to see when and where they are running events.

There are two conventions coming up in Fort Worth and Grapevine, where we will have Shadowrun events.

Besides the CDT player website, you can also follow me on Twitter @sinthalix since I try to post every convention listed in the CDT website.

As to your actual question, I have no clue when the next CMP series will be published.  They are available to CDT Agents to run at non-convention locations (at least all through 2014).  CMP 2015s will be released to CDT Agents for non-convention use the day after GenCon 2015.

Origins 2014 had a LARP called "Abandoned Assets". I recall the previous year had one but I do not recall the name or if it was 5th edition.

How does one go about getting copies of the Chicago Missions?

In order to make it easy for you to find where you might purchase official published material, the titles in Appendix B are hyperlinked to their product page on Battlecorps.

If you're looking for unpublished material, you are welcome to join the Catalyst Demo Team and become a minion to the Teutonic Overlord and his Lead RPGs Agent, Erzherzog Volbrecht.

As an FYI, SMH 2016-01 UnCONventional Warfare was released today (free) and is a legal Mission.  It can be downloaded here:  http://cdn.shadowruntabletop.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/SMH-2016-01-UnCONventional-Warfare.pdf?c1abe8

It will be added to Appendix B with the next FAQ release.
