I was thinking of making a rigger, but having a low level Control Rig.  He'd be a wheelman, drive anything kind.
But I didn't want to go with the top tier for thematic reasons.

Do you hate your rigger if they only have a lvl 1 Rig?

I wouldn't hate any wheelman.  They get little enough love as is.

However, I'd be curious why you'd bother with a low level control rig for a driver.  If you're driving a car in AR while using wired reflexes and high reaction attribute lets you do about 90% of what you could be doing if you were rigging anyway, PLUS retaining control of your body for actions like shooting a gun out the side window or etc.  Not to mention, a wired-up driver is basically 3/4 of the way to being a samurai already, so you're pretty useful outside the car, to boot.

RPG mechanics exist to give structure and consistency to the game world, true, but at the end of the day, you’re fighting dragons with algebra and random number generators.

I was thinking of going the Narco route instead of wired reflexes

Oh, are we talking 5th edition?

If so, then yeah.  A low rating VCR PLUS Reaction enhancers is perfectly viable.  They don't stack in 6we, so that's the problem I was alluding to in my previous post.

It's weird that Drugs make you a better driver in the 6th world, lol

Rigging is not my thing as a player except as a secondary role and it is likely my weakest area overall but if another player is into it, they are definitely an asset to my team regardless of whether they have a high- or low-end control rig.
