Ok, this  is a off topic, right? And bacon should not blow off FastJack Frags, right?

Did you know, there are dozens ways of preparing Bacon. That is obvious, right? But bacon can be a different meat at all.

Examples? Polish bacon is fat. It is the fat part of,... pigs meat. The english bacon? Is the skinny one. And when I mean skinny I mean both it is thin and low on fat. To make it crispy you should let the water evaporate before frying. And it should be raw. While the polish 'skwarki' is not about beeing crispy, but about beeing fat. You should not cut out thin slices, but thick greaves. Fry if long enought so the meet will release all of its fat. Let it cool down, so it will become lard. Put this mixed lard and meat on bread, add some salt, and gherkin...

The Slovakian cooking, is terrible. Really fat, and boring in taste. I do understand that my ancestor needed it to survive... but I'm glad, that today we can eat vegetables from all around the world. Like Bananas and chocolate!

One Vegetarian taught me how to make them. Simple, set oven to about 160'C, and cut bananas along. Not throu, just from one side, so you can put inside the chocolate. It will be easier if you will cult along inside curved edge of it. 4 peaces of standard chocolade bar should be right amound for a single banana. When chocolate is inside, just wrap it with aluminum foil, and put it in owen for 15-20 minutes. Just to let the chocolate melt, and inside banana will turn soft ;) Perfect desert

Now I gotta go fry up some bacon. Living in the UK means the majority of bacon is the leaner stuff, but the streaky fatty bacon like we use back in the states has slowly been catching on.

There is this one place in Florida where they do chocolate confections & such and one of their novelty items is cooked bacon dipped in chocolate.

I know it sounds odds, but they do a heavily salted and smoked bacon which makes a great counterpoint to the rich chocolate and IMO it works surprisingly well.

Sadly the chocolate dipped meatloaf was not so good.

Hmmm,... I met an italian once, on one of my hitch-hiking trips and he told me about beef cocked in chocolade... and i was always considering to make it at home.

But as we are talking on RPG forum, you might recognize John Wick. He was in Poland twice, and i had a chance than to talk with him in private [Was 'helipin with a convention called Pyrkon. Just 24k people last year]. What is more importat, he made a lecture about cooking for geeks. And it was awsome. Mostly becouse he was cooking live on stage, and that all the audience cood tase what he finally coocked.

He took a kilo of pork chop. Choped it into thick slices [really thick, like 2-3cm]. He fryed it for a biref moment, and throw it into a pot. Added a glass of water and two jars of cherry jam. And it was boiling on small flame, for about 1,5-2 hours. After that he just took it, choped it for smaller slices, and stick it on toothpicks...

And it was delicious ;)

I'm from Texas, and one of the things we used to do was make candy-coated bacon.  Basically, you fry up a bunch of strips of bacon (or bake them, if you want to keep the strips long) and then you cover them with chocolate, cinnamon, or some other confection.  They are delicious!  My mother-in-law made me some maple-bacon cupcakes for my birthday one year and they were fantastic.

I love bacon so much that I was given a Bacon Salt variety pack, a bacon-only cookbook, and more.  It's actually gotten a little ridiculous in my family, especially since I don't actually eat bacon more than a couple times a week.

As to chocolate and meats - mole is one of my favorite Mexican foods ever.  To me, the best thing is that it's always different everywhere you go.  Each family has a variant on the basic idea, and no two moles are quite the same.  I love to go to new places and try new things, but since most Mexican restaurants serve similar dishes, mole is the guaranteed thing to be vastly different every time.

Nami, so you are baconHolic? xD

Yea, that is right. In Poland for example there are lots of 'chinese' restaurant [that are actually Vietnameese, becouse of wave of imigrants in the 1955-75]. There are few 'simple' dishes. Like Sweet-sour chicken. If you would visit China, you could ask about it all the time and will not find out anything. Similar is with Vietnam. But the dish is rather simple, rice, chicken, someting sweet like pineapple, and sour like lemon, or vinegar, but in each city it have its diferances.

About highly ragionalized dish, 'Carbonara'. An italian dish, that is scrambled eggs with bacon, onion, sour cream and pasta. One will not use onion at all other will use garlic instead,... but the real chalage is the consistency. As it should not be just scrambled eggs, or it should in some regions.

It is a simple dish that is hard to master ;)

You know, there should be a bacon suit in Shadowrun. No one could destroy the pure awesomeness of bacon, and quite frankly who in their right mind would.
