After a month of downtime you decide it's good to go out and look for a little work despite your fat shadowbank account.  Fixers are always looking for what's fresh and bleeding edge and more than a month not working can knock you down to second tier if you're  not careful.  You txt Amazing Larry and he says he'll hit you back with something in the next few hours.  Sure enough he gets back to you with a Johnson who's looking for an easy courier run.  Larry hooked up one job for that Johnson before, seems legit and says it pays out upwards of 50,000 nuyen for the group and the rest of the details and negotiations are at the meet.  Rather private type, so the meet is room 24 in the Puyallup Lodge hotel, be there at midnight tonight.  It's a two man job and Larry feels Storm, the Viking mojoslinger who you successfully completed the last run with would be the perfect compliment to your skills.  He throws you the norse girl's commcode in case you don't have it and asks you to sort out the details.

The time right now is 10:00 am

Zach didnt layed down whole pause, and the account is far thinner than it was before. Yet Zach is proud owner of solid SIN (6) with licence for his armor, weapons and bike. Also he replenished the ammunition and grenades and he even spend a few bucks to get himself qiuet place in Auburn where he can take stay over night and relax. He had visited Doc a few times, checking his new liver, as he tries to be as carefull as possible on those. He also contacted Mengulian, just to see how the business works and if he is alive. Some time he spends in that BBQ bar Brick introduced him, but mostly he is on the rad, cruising whole Seattle and talking here and there, he is looking to find the contact for Ork tribe that lives uphill in Cascade mountains, Crows, as far as Zach knows.
No contact was made so far, well at least Zach avoided Vory so far hping they gave up, well never so naive to actually believe in that.
Since Brick doesnt seem to respond, Zach had to make it on his own, and when account got thin even more, he called Larry by himself, as he hopes he left impresion good enought to get himself a job.

Storm was hurting. Not just physically; she needed some action. She'd spent most of her downtime in her low-rent ground floor apartment recovering from the several round of surgeries she'd just gone through. The remainder of her time was spent playing with her 'ware and learning a couple new spells from a trideo package she'd purchased. She wasn't terribly interested in going out and being social, at least not just yet. She was still on a lot of people's hit-list due to the assassination last month. She had been forced to use her real SIN, meaning she was now a person of interest in a rather high-profile crime. Not so good. At least the money had been worth it, while it lasted. She was sporting a new Rating 5 SIN with the name Jerzet Ma’kolbx, a name that was far safer to use than either her real name or the fake SIN her employer had used to contact her for the previous run. That SIN was worthless now. Worse than worthless, since it would likely have gotten her killed.

She focused her new cyber eyes on a distant abandoned building over the barrens. It was much too far away to see before the surgery, but afterwards she could zoom in without any trace of glare, switch vision modes, and digitally enhance the image with nothing more than a thought. She reached out with her new black-market Spellslinger glove and a targeting reticle appeared in her field of view. She cast Ball Lightning and watched the upper floor of the abandoned building crackle with electricity, throwing sparks from the long-gone window openings.

She inhaled deeply, the corner of her vision filling with various readouts on air composition and pollutant count. She knew that if she entered an area with explosives, gunpowder, nerve gas, or any other environmentally detectable substance she'd immediately know about it. An armored taxi drove by, spewing noxious fumes from its faulty power cell, and her readouts spiked.

That's the crappy part, she thought, I get a reminder of just how nasty this city is on a constant basis.  

She had gotten some rather expensive bioware that let her become hyper-aware of the emotions of people around her based on their pheromones, and she found that there were a lot more perverts living nearby than she could have possibly known about. She enjoyed using her Fear spell on them  without their knowledge; she got a euphoric high when she smelled their conflicted emotions, a mixture of terror and lust.

The most painful surgery by far was the addition of Platelet Factories. It felt like her blood was on fire for weeks afterwards. Now that she's had a chance to get used to it she hardly noticed it at all. She'd been distracted once while practicing her new spell and lost her concentration. The spell went off, but she wasn't ready for it. She felt the usual "thump" at the core of her chest, and expected to get the soreness in her arms that accompanied the trauma of capillaries exploding; this time all she felt was a numbness followed by a tingling sensation as her augmented healing system immediately went to work at the cellular level, fixing problems before they bled into and damaged other areas.

Storm saw the encrypted message scroll across her PAN. She liked working with Zach, even though she knew he's in the game for one person and one person only. A true Shadowrunner.

Nothing wrong with that, she thought.

Storm replied that he should meet her at GRINDER, a local coffee bar that served shitty coffee that you could order laced with nearly anything you wanted. Anything. She'd been getting her fix of Psyche there for the past few weeks and had scoped it out pretty thoroughly. No wards, no recording devices, and no questions.

@Zach: Meet me at GRINDER, 8:00 tonight. I will bring some friends. Udachi, chummer.

[Zach knew her well enough to know that she didn't exactly have any friends, and that she was obviously referring to summoned and bound spirits.]

So, after spending a frustrating afternoon trying to bind spirits, Storm watches the sun go down and curses her bad luck. All three of the spirits managed to slip through her fingers just as she was ready to lock them into 'contract'. She decides not to push things any further and summons a Watcher Spirit, which takes the form of a small ball of lightning.

Storm takes a few minutes to collect herself and meditates, trying to shake off the cobwebs from the stun damage she incurred trying to bind the spirits

Grinder is a very chatty little dive where people are all hopped up on caffiene in addition to whatever else they've had added to their drink.  U spot each other and sit down at a booth which is tucked away, the loud banter reassures u than ur conversation will be private.

Zach orders Latte and donuts with cream...he felt in love with this caloric bomb and he feel the energy would be needed in the next few hours. Makin himself comfortable, looking around he can see that his weared cammo is a bit on the verge in comparsion to the latest mode. Well he doesn`t exactly give a fuck.
When his order arrives, he takes a long sip from the caffe and then he finally focuses on Storm

By that time, he took a good look around to see if any imminent danger threatens to disturb them during the conversation. With his googles removed, he feel free with all those tactical informations and constant hum of sensor  channels, but at least he can focus on the woman across the table without aiming cross placed on her ferehead.

You scope out the perimeter through the corners of your eyes and nothing looks threatening.  Many of the usuals are there and in between engaged in rapid conversation or nodding off in their seats there doesn't seem to be anything that would alarm you.

Storm orders an exotic chai tea, using the specific wording that tells the server that she wants Psyche added to the drink. When customers order an expensive drink like this they are always required to pay in advance, even if they think of themselves as a "regular". Storm pays the 200 nuyen and her drink arrives just as ordered. She sips it and feels the drug kick in, making her hyper-aware of her surroundings but also giving her an ADD-like tendency to be constantly changing focus.

She inhales and analyzes the smells in the room, seeking any signs of deception or anxiety that would give her the red flag that this meet wasn't legit.

I got my bike ready, parked outside. The meeting is planned for midnight on the place that can easily turn to trap, I'd rather move ASAP so we can look aroud before we step into possible ambush. More details on the route, I'm not used to discuss such things on such public place. We go as soon as you finish your drink.

Storm climbs aboard Zach's motorcycle, taking care to ensure her bike's security system was fully activated. This wasn't a bad part of town, per se, but things still can have a way of walking off if one's careless.

She grips the seat with her legs and grabs his armored shoulder with her left hand, keeping her gloved right hand free to work magic unhindered. She tells her Watcher spirit to remain close by and alert her immediately if any spirits are detected in astral space.

@Zach: "I've never heard of this place, good to get there early for some magical recon. If we run into trouble on the bike try to give them your right flank, gives me a better field of coverage."

Zach tries to make it to the site to have at least 10 minutes to quick recon, and when he parks outside the hotel, he stays on the bike to provide cover to Storm if she is about to do some astral recon, and he pulls Sylvia out of his pocket...remembers Wagner, as he always does, and sends the dragonfly above to have wider perspective.
He checks his guns are loaded and ready and waits for Storm to report in. It would probably be better if she does the talking, he was here just as a driver. Well he did enought experiences with this kind of things to know that it is highly possible that his other skills will be usefull also. He was currious about the Johnson. Especialy if he would heard one special sentence that always mean troubles. Or maybe this one would be honest one? Zach grins under the helmet, just for himself.

You've never been in the CZ zone in Chicago nor the warzone of Bogota, but Puyallup is close enough.  The post apocalyptic muddle of buildings in front of u which could loosely be called a city block seems to be ur destination.  The neon sign long ago shattered and hanging by just a wire is unreadable and in its place is an AR logo which flickers on and off due to the poor wifi signal.  Puyallup Lodge it says and prompts ur comm to reserve a room if u so choose.  The only other soul outside is an almost anorexic looking elven woman who had definitely seen better days....so bad so in fact she could pass as a banshee if it weren't for the fact that banshees don't turn tricks on city corners.

@Zach:
Your recon of the blocks around the hotel doesn't show anything unusual.  A homeless troll about 2 blocks away and some devil rats is all u see in terms of beings.

@Storm:
Ur astral perception turns up with the same except for more devil rats.

She walks into the Puyallup Lodge. Storm is wearing her armored black Urban Explorer jumpsuit over a set of black form-fitting armor and looks tough as hell as she walks in. She cycles her cybereye vision mode to the appropriate setting based on lighting conditions and scans the room.

You ignore the flickering AR prompt for requesting a room and enter the front door to the dilapidated make-shift hotel.  There's a small lobby with torn up couches and a wooden front desk which is completely unmanned.  The owners must have decided to save some money and automate check-in during off hours.  Only one bulb lights the whole first floor and the stairs to the upper 4 levels are so old they're even made of cracked wood.  It seems that visitors are just allowed to mosey on up to whatever room they're visiting.  The locks gotta be on the individual rooms because the front door was open and there's not a thing worth stealing on the first floor....take that back...looks like there once were a few more bulbs lighting this room but they're all missing save the one.  Couches look screwed into the tile floor as well.  Seems in Puyallup it's gotta be nailed down if you don't want it taken.

You make your way up the first flight of stairs and come out onto a dark hallway with a few more ceiling lamps lighting it, room 24 is only three doors down.

@Storm:
The burning searching sensation of your detection spell should pick up anyone with any hostile intentions towards you within the whole building and even the city block for that matter.  You're not picking up anything negative.  Your new cyber-eyes begin to cycle lighting and geometric data down the side of your field of view but your vision enhancements only pick up a few cockroaches you wouldn't have otherwise seen.

Storm inhales and her augmented sense of smell begins running a battery of tests, looking for trace amounts of explosives and chemicals, as well as trying to detect the presence of animals or unusual humanoid smells such as those emitted by ghouls.

You breathe in deeply and right away your new ware starts going to work analyzing your already keen sense of smell.  The smells are heavy on the devil rat and even worse, dead devil rat, mixed in with trace amounts of motor-oil, cigarette butts, ganja, menstration, semen, urine and other bodily wastes.  The last few are typical smells for places which regularly give lodging to chip-heads who don't even care if their meat bodies shit their pants while they're off in lala land. 

Aside from those smells you don't really detect much else.

You hear foot steps in the room, the clicking of high heels on linoleum approaching the door.  The knob turns and as it opens you see a woman push it open and start walking back into the room, her back still towards you she nonchalantly utters "Come in, close the door and make yourselves comfortable."  Before you've even reacted she drops herself down onto a couch that you can see from the door way and lounges back without even a hint of nerviousness nor any other emotion for that matter save apathy.

The room looks just as dilapidated as the rest of the place.  There is only the couch which your host is sitting on on the wall across from the doorway, a king sized bed on your left which still is made and doesn't look to have been slept in and a closed window to your right.

When you open your mind to the astral realm the signatures in the room are drab and quite grey save for the aura of your host.  It is quite a peculiar aura but nonetheless is rather drab as well.  If you had to identify it you would might say it's of a plant-like or microbial nature, hard to tell.

After you close the door out of courtesy to what she just asked you to do and because it doesn't seem like she'll start talking until you close it anyways, she immediately begins. 

"Well, I suppose you figured out by now that this is no courier run.  I will get to the point immediately."

She pauses for a moment as she looks Zach up and down from head to toe, almost as if she recognizes him.  Then she turns and looks back at Storm.

"There is an associate of yours that we need you to help us track down.  He runs the shadows under the alias of Brick.  If you arrange a meeting with him so that my associates can grab him, then there's 50,000 nuyen in it for the both of you.  Any questions?"

As both of you light up the room with brief flashes of mana, Zach from his agility boost and Storm from her Invis spell, you can tell you caught the woman off-guard but she quickly adjusts. 

@Storm:
When you casted the illusion you noticed that the woman's will did not resist as a living person's tends to....more like an object.  In fact, the spell which alerts you to people with ill-intent does not register anyone at all, not even the woman ready to shoot at you.

 Despite the strong invisibility spell you weaved about yourself you can see her mechanical eyes still tracking you.  The spell must be fooling her visual light spectrum channels so she's gotta have some ultra-sound somewhere in her sensor suite....not good.

Her wrist whips around and the small black barrel protruding from her open mechanical arm lights up and the silenced gunfire makes you dive but you're not able to find any effective cover!

Interrupted mid burst the scantily clad lady takes the full brunt of Zach's well placed burst.  As the rounds hit her torso you see the skin rip open in patches and underneath is only torn metal shielding, circuitry and LED's.  One round even hits her head and exposes parts of a metalic skull underneath some sort of foamy skin-like covering.  She flies back and lands right back on the couch on which she was sitting before and utters in a speaking voice that sounds glitchy all of a sudden:  "Pre--pare to be e---rased."

At the exact same moment you hear a whirring sound coming from outside the window.

Storm's two hands outstretched in different directions spit streams of white hot flame which dart across the room.  The first stream hits the window and spreads out lighting the curtains and setting the wooden window frame on fire.  The second stream slams right into the android woman and lights her and the couch up like a christmas tree, sparks flying as metal and plastic melt.  She tries to move and get up, but her gyro-systems are too far gone and she falls right back on the couch which is completely engulfed.  Her voice rings out distorted and barely audible but enough so that you catch her saying "Weee will render your professionnn irrelevant...." right before she goes off-line.

Doesn't look like before too long the whole room will be ablaze.

Suddenly the window shatters open as a roto-drone smashes through guns on full auto!

You definitely hear more whirring noise outside the window but nothing is in sight yet.  The intense flames and spreading smoke are impeding  your vision more and more.  The flames are centered on the window and the couch.

I know you didn`t knew Brick too much, and he was sick bastard from time to time, well he didn`t shoot me when he should, and I won`t let him down. Now...which way lady? My climbing equipement is in my backpack...down in the compartement of the bike, so I have another SMG, a few clips with armor piercing and explosive ammo, and a few grenades, some of them even EMP. Shortest way down is... Zach looks at the window
...possibly the same shit as if we try our chances on that hallway. There also seems to a be a few of those birdies. By the way...Ive heard the Hells kitchen is a nice place to visit this time a year. Would we give it a try?

She pulls the specially-designed collar of her Urban Explorer jumpsuit over her nose and mouth, the pressure-sensitive material holding its shape and filtering the smoke from the air before it hits her lungs. She pushes a button on her jumpsuit and her whole body begins to blend in with the background due to the ruthenium fibers sewn into her armor.

Storm dispells two of her sustained spells, Detect Enemies and Improved Invisibility. She puts her hands together as though she's praying and her wounds close up, metal slugs hitting the floor as they are pushed from her body.

Storm sees spots for a moment due to the lack of oxygen but she quickly recovers. The Air Spirit seems pleased with the transaction.

Storm tells the spirit through their telepathic link: "My cold and etherial partner, you have entered a contract which must be fulfilled. Outside that window is a group of flying metal abominations. You are to Conceal yourself, the ork named Zach [she nods in Zach's direction], and the elf named Storm [she puts her hand on her own chest], and cause Accidents to the abominations outside. If they attack and you near depletion, I command you to return to the metaplanes before you are unraveled. [uses two services]

Via text on Zach's PAN: "Hells Kitchen sounds grand. Get ready to jump. We need to see whats going on our there, any ideas?"

Storm nods at the blown-out window and waits.

You suddenly hear silenced auto fire and can see the spirit dodging it but before it can even send you a mental message you see the autofire has changed from live rounds to SnS as little electrical arcs dart out and engulf the air being and it's quickly burned to shreds which just dissipate into a fine mist.  You see one of the drones fall past the window, it's propellers completely stopped and then you hear it crash on the ground below.

These drones seem to be quite smart and well programmed.  You don't know how much time you have until they have LOS on you through the window.  You sure as hell can't see them yet but the flames around the window make you keep your distance.

The construction of the floor is linoleum over wood panelling over a very old concrete structure.   The walls also have the same type of structure except the surface is peeling wallpaper over dry-wall.  Opposite the wall with the window you do see a metal ventilation grate just below the ceiling that is about 0.5 m x 0.5 m.
Looks like part of the HVAC system. 

@Everyone:
By now you see that entire wall that that the window is on is on fire and the temperature is almost un-bearable.

Storm mutters quietly to herself, "Tribute ensures loyalty."

She points at the metal grate and mentally commands the spirit: "Mighty dwarf, rip that metal grate from the wall so that we may all pass through! NOW!!"

You're amazed at how quickly your blood coagulates but the pinky still smarts really bad!
The rugged little earthen dwarf nods and lunges at the grate sinking his fingers right into the metal and yanks it off with ease.   As you look into the darkness of the vent shaft you can see that after about half a meter it makes a T intersection that goes left and right.  It is incredibly small and dragging yourself through it will be very difficult.

Even though you're head is aching a little from the mana slowly draining out of you muscles, you decide it's worth another boost and you charge them again with energy and instantly feel much stronger and faster.  You smile under your respirator and make your way into the vent shaft.  The cat in you takes over and you start wiggling and dragging yourself.  Within seconds you're already completely inside and have rounded the corner.  After only 2 meters you find another branching vent shaft that ends in a grate that must lead into some adjacent room.  The shaft also continues on ahead and you're pretty sure that you're in between floors right now. 

@Storm:

As soon as Zach disappears through the vent you see a roto-drone pop out of the smoke and flames of the window and scan the room.  It's quite obvious his sensors have registered you.

Good they made it this little today

Zach smiled as he was pulling Miniwielder from the pocket. Electric arc buzzes and starts to melt the material of the grate. He was aware Storm is in the middle of dealing with sme additional threat, well there want much he was able to now, trying to move backwards in this spacewould be quite challenging and it for sure wont be as quick as moving forward. In the end, he has full confidence in her ability to deal with it.

The earthen golem-like dwarf swings it's hammer, raises it in the air and brings it down on the floor.  Linoleum and splinters fly up in the air as the top surface of the floor gets torn up.  The tear in the linoleum extends out from where the hammer impacted in a line which heads straight for the drone and as soon as it is under the roto-drone explodes upwards sending the little machine flying backwards.  It's gyroscope seems to have been completely damaged as it whizzes around in aimless circles without any control and crashing into the wall.

You dive behind the bed and all you hear suddenly is the echoing blasts of thunder from the dwarf's hammer, silenced machine gun fire and the sound of shell casings pinging against the floor.  Then it all stops.  You look up and the dwarf is standing in the middle of the room leaning on it's hammer looking at you with a smirk.  Its contract now complete it nods bidding you farewell and just crumbles into dust departing from this world.  The flames have almost spread to the bed.

@Zach:

You quickly cut a circle big enough in the vent so that you can make it through.  As soon as you poke your head through you see with your low-light vision that there is a naked man and woman wrapped in bed-sheets cowering behind the bed looking very scared at the obvious sounds of gun-fire and blasts.  They don't seem to have noticed you at all though since there heads are down and they aren't looking about the room.  The sound of the welding was probably quite drowned out by the din coming from the "johnson's" room.  You're worried and try to get a quick stat on Storm.

The fire in the room is getting really bad and the smoke is almost unbearable. Her eyes water as she summons another spirit. She knows that a Water spirit would throw a fit at being summoned into a burning building, so she decides to summon a Guardian spirit.

She flicks it at the spirit, the spot appearing on its chainmail armor and instantly disappearing as it is consumed as the contract is sealed. Damn that finger hurts.

"Proud Valkyrie, your protection is needed. In order to fulfill your contract I require you to clear a safe path to the window so that I may pass. Sweep away flames and drones alike with the waters of Aegir! Hyyaaaaaaaaaa!!!"

Storm crouches in preparation to leap through the window as soon as she hears from Zach and the flames are pushed back enough for her to make the jump.

As soon as you're done telling the couple to split, they jump up still wrapped in bed sheets and rush for the door too scared to yell.  As soon they reach it they open it and run out, and just as quickly the soft familiar clatter of auto-fire rings out and they both get riddled with bullets and fall, still in your view in the middle of the hallway right in front of the door, the bedsheets tattered and blood-stained.  The door is still open and you hear the whirring of a roto-drone approaching and slowing down as if to look inside the room they just came out of.   

As you peer outside the window you see that it looks out onto a very dark alley-way that runs along the back of the building and is only lit by the intense flames blasting out of the window of the adjacent rooms.  You do see three more drones circling over-head above the alley but you're quite sure they haven't spotted you.

The fire is now raging and the entire half of the room which contains the window and the couch is consumed.  There is still a path towards the door to the hallway but you would have to jump over some flames. 

You're Valkyrie spreads open her arms and let's forth a jet of water attempting to extinguish the flames.

The water dashes upon the big area affected by the fire and steam hisses and fills the room making it almost impossible to see.  She keeps the jet spewing as long as she can but to no avail as the heat is too intense for water to stay in liquid form and she looks back at you. 

"My liege, my powers are no match for these flames, forgive me...."   

With that she bows and disintegrates into a vanishing mist, her services for you completed.

(Coughing loudly) "The fire is spreading too fast, gotta get out. Hallway's no good, can't use the element of surprise and they'll frag anything that opens the door. I'm jumping, see if you can distract the drones enough to buy me a second or two. Any stragglers and they're all yours. Wish me luck, chummer."

Storm braces herself, making sure her chameleon coating is activated and her Low-light vision mode is set. Good thing she's got flare protection to block the glare, going to get bright in a sec.

She runs across the room and leaps through the burning window. She feels the fire lick hungrily at her exposed skin before she even reaches the window.

The flames scorch you as you feel yourself fly through the already broken window that is nothing but a wall of fire.  With your leap you give yourself enough torque to begin rotating while your adrenaline is pumping so hard you only feel a dull throb across your skin.  It all happens as if in slow motion and once you feel the heat subside and your face pointing up at the night sky you open your eyes and see the three drones Zach pointed out already spiraling downward towards you. 

@Zach:
You see storm shoot out of the burning window doing a barrel roll through the air, a trail of flame and debris tagging along behind her.  You see the drones already engaging and can tell they haven't spotted you yet and you let them have it with your Heckler.

As Storm didn`t waited for distraction Yach realiye it has to be hot up there. He had drones already in his sights, so he pulled the trigger and tried to make as much damage as possible to give Storm chance to survive this stunt:

Zach unloads with autofire at the group of drones overhead and just lays into them.  The hail of armor piercing bullets tears massive holes through them and two of them immediately go off-line and start crashing straight towards the ground leaving only 1 left.


 The lone drone's self-preservation subroutines quickly re-calculate ballistic trajectories based on the obvious muzzle flash coming from one of the hotel windows and prepares to openfire directly on Zach's position.

You let off the spell and crackling arcs of electricity coil out from your arms and gather into a ball which shoots straight upward toward the sky.  It explodes on the last drone left and you see parts of it's circuitry fry.  Immediately it begins wobbling and weaving straight towards you and almost crashes into you but misses and hits the side of the building before smashing into the ground.  Speaking of crashing, you're just about to hit the ground yourself and you brace for impact.

That worked. Zach didnt forgot the drone in the coridor, and the situation given, he thought the best would be to add a bit mess into the situation.

Fingers reaches the belt, pulling one Hi-explosive grenade and removing the safety. He stood up and he jumped out of the window he threw the grenade on massacred bodies on the hallway, .

@Everyone:

Once Storm has stopped herself mid-fall a mere centimeters from the ground and slowly rotated herself back upright and onto her feet and Zach has smoothly landed right next to her, you both glance around the alley to see your options.  It stretches on in both directions for an unknown number of blocks but the side alleys of the Puyallup Lodge seem to be the fastest ways to the bike and you remember them being traversable from your initial inspection of the area.
       Looking up at the fire which is now creeping up the side of the plasticrete exterior you can see that the rooms you were in were part of only 6 windows in the back.  The rest of the back wall of the hotel is peppered with ventilation ducts encasing spinning fans which probably serve to climate control the sleep coffins which take up the majority of the interior.  No fire alarm has gone off yet and you wonder if there even is a functional one installed at all.  Patrons don't seem to be milling out either so either the whole place is empty or the sound-proofing on those sleep coffins has everyone still sleeping snugly. 
        All the torn up and burnt drones lying around you seem to be un-salvagable but you might find a functional data store somewhere in one of them.  Each one is around 20kg with the guns and ammo probably being about half of that.

The first Valkyrie apparently still didn't trust Storm after the incident in Tir. Storm had already given her word through a Geas that she'd never target an innocent using one of the proud Valkyries, but obviously she'd need to try harder to win some of the powerful warriors back to her side. She grimaced as the Valkyrie used her powerful arms to push Storm away before the contract was signed.

The second Valkyrie was more willing to trust her, and she signed an agreement to help Storm in exchange for a moment of sacrificial pain from the woman. Storm showed the Valkyrie her badly burned hand and clenched it into a tight fist. The pain was extraordinary. The spirit accepted her sacrifice with a crisp nod. [2 services remaining]

"Proud Valkyrie, use your powers to Conceal us from the metal demons that threaten to harm us."

Storm makes sure her chameleon suit is activated, just as an added layer of protection against being noticed by the drones.

She has one more task to do before she and Zach hatch their plan, namely to heal herself from the damage caused by the flames.

You shoot anything that gets in our way. Once we're clear I'll have the Valkyrie try to put down the flames to spare the innocents inside the building."

Zach and Storm grab the most intact drone they can find and sprint down the alley stopping at the corner of the next alley and strategically peak around.  After a quick scan you see that the alley leading out onto the main street is also clear and they bolt making it to Zach's bike in seconds.  No sign of any drones out in the open but before they have a chance to find out Zach is already taking off into the night with Storm in back holding the charred piece of tech.  By the time you're on 167 heading north into Auburn it's quite apparent that nobody is trailing but you hold back a sigh of relief until about 30 min. later once you're at a safe location. 

Something doesn't seem quite right about the whole meet and you're determined to find out what the hell is going on here....
