However, there is a licensing issue, as the Ponies are owned a different company. Appenrently it will be a bovine themed to keep a "pony like shape"....

No, Better Than Bad is a separate book about "hooding", as in Robin Hood.
Darn it, now I have the Log song from Ren & Stimpy ("It's log, log, it's better than bad, it's good!") stuck in my head.

In the interest of moving things on feel free to roll my perception as a teamwork action on searching the flat. Ryu is obviously most interested in electronic gear he can dig through for info as well as any cameras covering communal areas he can tap/retrieve info from or access devices like locks that might have timestamps for entry/exit etc

General Discussion / Re: Chummer for 5th Edition
« Last post by SpellBinder on Today at 15:05:18 »
Hello all.  Poking at Chummer5 for the first time (just grabbed the nightly build) and noticed that when putting points into the Athletics skill group I was getting points in a skill called "Flight".  What is this skill, how is it part of the Athletics group, and why was it greyed out even as points were being added to it?

Configuration wide, I am running with just the generic default (5th edition Core Rulebook only).
Flight is for pixies, most drakes, and shifters like eagles.  It gets at least briefly touched upon in the list of powers for drakes in Howling Shadows, page 164-165 while its use is briefly detailed in SR5, page 394.  Simply put it functions like Running and/or Swimming for actions involving Flight.  Obviously you need to be able to fly somehow to actually make use of such a skill (no falling with style), and spellcasters using levitate on themselves might qualify for certain actions while flying.

Man, if only I could get QCs at work cleared like that.  You da man!  Or Bot.  Or whatever the appropriate pro-noun is.  Thanks!

Character creation and critique / Re: Leadership?
« Last post by Beta on Today at 09:43:14 »

That is actually a really good question.

Personally I don't see how rolling for Inspire after people already became surprised and lost their initiative score would be resolved. Except maybe in the corner case where the leader have really high reaction + intuition (so they are not surprised in the first place) and really high initiative score (so they can use Inspire before their teammates acted in the first combat phase). Also, would teammates get +10 initiative score retroactively if the extra dice from Inspire mean they didn't become surprised in the first place...? It is kind of a mess if you ask me.

I always just played it out as: "I am keeping the team Inspired in case we walk into a surprise situation" and just resolved the surprise situation by:
1. Roll for Inspire.
2. Roll for Surprise.
3. Roll for Initiative.

Which to me makes sense, in that a leader can help the team keep all of the angles covered, keep  being wary, etc, and presumably makes sure they know how to quickly communicate key information.
