Title: Counterspell Preparations
Post by: 忍 on <10-05-17/1339:12>
What do yall think about a Preparation that triggers when you are affected by a spell and pops to add Counterspelling dice to resist? That or a prep that has CS dice and either uses them or times out.

Doable - doesn't even need counterspelling: Mana Barrier with a Detect Magic spell as an advanced trigger. Instead of rolling resistance dice this will take away dice one on one from the enemy caster (with the added benefit that the barrier will protect you for longer than one attempt)

Downside for the trigger: It works only on anchors, so you'd have to ward your home with it.

I would suggest mana static, mana barrier can be taken down through combat bat spells but mana static can only be dispelled and the status affects that dice pool also.

A pure "this preparation adds Counterspelling dice?" No, never.

Because preparations are spells in bottled form. There are no spells that give +X Counterspelling dice.
