It was a tv show staring a young Bruce Campbell.  What else needs to be said?

Well, he wasn't *that* young. That said, it was nearly 20 years ago.

I really enjoyed it - good goofy fun.

Indeed. It was a fun western that didn't take itself too seriously.

Been a while, but it was a pretty awesome show.

Well, when the modern comparison point is Bruce Campbell as Sam Axe in Burn Notice... I call him young.  If we're comparing to Evil Dead?  Nah, he's an old man in BCJ.  And this show is flippin' hilarious.  The writers' goal was to make it just under over-the-top.

Sam Axe jokes in Poker Night 2, BTW.

It was a classic, and a key pirce of proto steampunk at that. Notably John Astin, the original Gomez Addams, was great as professor Wickwire.

And Billy Drago, my favorite creepy bad guy.  Maybe more famously known from Charmed as Barbas the demon of fear.

Brilliant show.

Though, Pete Hutter is my favorite villain from the show.

Awesome, awesome show.

Watched them all on fox back in the day and still have the vhs tapes I recorded them on..... Even though I don't have a vcr anymore.......

But I digress, Bruce was badass in that show, which btw was a big influence on Deadlands as it was being created.

Seriously, how can this forum system not have a +1 or +karma system or whatever?  That giraffe has earned it.

I always thought of it as an intentionally campy answer to the unintentionally campy Hercules a Xena.

Herc and Xena were unintentionally campy?  I always thought with the Raimi's in charge that camp was the order of the day.

Hercules was a good show.  Xena was trash, though.

I think Hercules got campy later in the show..and yes much of Xena was campy. But the earlier Hercules episodes? No. Unfortunately the monster effects weren't very good early in the series, but I preferred the earlier episodes quite a bit.

Actually enjoyed Xena.  Granted, most of the time it was for the almost nudity, but there were some good stories out there.

I didn't care for either Hercules or Xena. Lucy Lawless looked off in the role, I could never put my finger on it until I saw her on Battlestar Galactica. Turns out it was the hair.

It was voted that, due to thin skins and claims of abuse, the Karma system was to be disabled.

Ah, that does suddenly sound like a reasonable view. No karma for you, giraffe.

That's okay. I mostly subsist on salads. :)
