I'm amazed they aren't walking around with their dicks out now.

If that refers to Harlequin as Earl of Arran, he inherited those lands from Aina, who had purchased "the defunct earldom sometimes around the turn of the 21st century."

So in addition to the House of Lords Act of 1999 not passed, it would require the Earl of Arran title to go extinct (which it currently isn't, being a subsidiary title of Duke of Hamilton), then Aina purchase to involve not only the land, but also a peerage created by the King or the Queen of the United Kingdom, and this peerage to have a letters patent that allow the title to pass to mere beneficiary of the estate rather than only legitimate male descendants as the norm is (unless Aina had prepared documents establishing Harlequin as her legitimate son, that is).

In real life, the castle and land of Arran were bought in 1995 by Swiss millionaire Willi Ernst Sturzenegger. He petitioned to claim the title of "Feudal Earl of Arran". He was not claiming the peerage (the difference between "feudal earl" and "earl") that belonged to the Duke of Hamilton. Anyway, he did not get his wish granted.

Keep in mind Shadowrun officially diverges in 1989, and unofficially diverges much earlier than that.

Because he wielded Excalibur against Ghostwalker?

Which is weird. He's so un-Arthurian he would have Malory through White rolling in their graves. He'd make sense as reconstituted Green Knight or Lancelot, but he's not fighting for Christendom, he's not particularly noble, and he's not actively seeking an end to wars (he pretty much declared one on Ghostwalker). Also, he's kind of a dick.

I guess that could fit well for Fergus mac Roich, if he's actually the person whom the Celts based their legends on (which later influenced Arthurian legends -- there's some suggestion that Arthur is a cross between this figure and an actual king named Aethelred, and Fergus had a sword that matches the Excalibur concept fairly well). That doesn't really explain his fancy silver plate armor, but I guess that's more elf-magic than anything else.

Or he could have just knicked Excalibur off of Bedevere when the old knight's back was turned. Stealing powerful weapons off of symbols of authority is what Shadowrunning's all about, after all.

Actually, I'm not sure the sword he used against Ghostie was Excalibur. Wasn't it supposed to be the magical rapier he offered to the runners at the end of the original Harlequin campaign? Street Legends mentioned he acquired it back as "sometimes any sword will do, and sometimes only one will" (or something along these lines).
If I'm not mistaken, Harlequin inherited Excalibur in Dunkelzahn's will, but the sword had not even been found.

Do you believe in a greater WIRELESS, an Invisible(WiFi) All Seeing(detecting those connected- at least if within 100'), All Knowing(all online data) Presence that we can draw upon for Wisdom(downloads & updates), Strength (wifi boni) and Comfort (porn) or do you turn your back on it  (Go Offline)?

That or considering what I know of the character and the expressions of everyone else in the picture.. it's a hacked transmission and HQ just very publicly aired some very dirty laundry.

Excalibur apparently does not exist. Which I find weird, considering that so many legends are true in SR.

I'm hoping for a release on the 15th. It'd be a nice birthday present for me. After Rigger 5.0, I'm stoked for this.

Up until that moment, Magnus had always thought the phrase 'Getting burned on the Stock Market' was just a figurative turn of phrase...

Then he tried selling short against some S-K interests and found that if you can't stand the heat, it's already too late.....

They say never deal with a dragon, but only slightly less known is never deal against a dragon. Alas, poor Magnus, I knew him not.  ;D
