This is my recruiting thread for the Milk Runs I run. Anyone who wants in, feel free to make a character. Recruitment stops once I feel i've overwhelmed myself.

1- Please use the life modules rules from Run Faster, but do 850 karma instead of 750.
2- Please make a character who is a shadowrunner, not just a character within the shadowrun universe.
3- If the character you made gets picked for a job, you get first dibs on playing it, but if you don't respond in 48 hours, it's up for grabs, first come first serve. If you respond again before we find a replacement, the slot it still yours.
4- If you vanish for more than 48 hours without a word about it, you will be replaced. Someone else will play your character. Again, If you respond again before we find a replacement, the slot it still yours.
5- This game will take place in Jacksonville, CAS (Formerly Florida) right on the east coast. Your character doesn't have to be from there, but I ain't gettin em there In-Game. You gotta work out how they got there and why they're there on your own.
6- You will all have a free contact. His name is Sam "One67" Tallman. He's a small time to mid level fixer who lives in riverside. Problems with addiction and impulse control. He is a solid and honorable man, nonetheless and loves his friends more than anything. Doesn't want to screw anyone over, but watches out for number one first and foremost. He's a near legendary graffitti artist and anytime you see a train go by, you have a good chance of seeing his name painted in stunning detail on the side. He's got a connections rating of 4, and you can take him at whatever loyalty you want, but you only get 1 for free. anything else you've gotta buy. You'll also need to justify it in game, as well as why you're in jacksonville. If your loyalty is below 3, you don't know his real name. You may even only know him as "One", "Six-seven", or "Scrub".
7- This is an adult themed game and as such will feature drug use, sex, violence, difficult moral themes, and all manner of distasteful things. If you are unable to deal with this, please do not apply.
8- Please have a basic understanding of the Shadowrun world, it's terminology, and the general role your character ought to fill. You don't have to understand every little nuance, but you should, for example, know what "Drain" is, even if you're not a mage, y'know?
9- Please don't be the fifth person to send me a PM asking questions that were answered in this post.

Well, there is only one way to find out: I apply for a player slot.

But it might be easier to just ask for specific roles to be filled instead of creating a stable of runners... ;)

At the typical rate of PbP posting? A month, minimum.

Wow. I thought I typed slowly.

That 3-4 hour estimate is based on years of experience.

I'm in.  Haven't used life modules yet, so it'll take me a day to get a char made.  Will probably do two.

Were these years of experience years ago on a different forum? Look at the Play by Post threads on here. If every player posts once per day, that's an achievement.

I think it could be done in a few hours if they planned it that way and all the posters were on at the same time and stayed till they were done

You may want to set up a chat group to facilitate that. It would be a lot easier than everyone constantly hitting refresh to see when the posts were up

I aint trying to go CRAZY with it just yet. I think being able to finish one in 2 weeks would be kinda incredible, y'know?

Use that as a starting point and see if we can't whittle it down from there, eh?

It won't work in two weeks, unless you make sure your players are in similar time zones and online every day.  If one player is in Europe while the others are in the US, you will have two replies a day maximum.  Also a fight takes quite a long time as people have to wait for someone else to reply and then the GM to reply before they can do something.

I think 1-2 months is more realistic, but my hat off to you if you can do it faster.

yeah, proper milk run with no combat should be ok, just make sure the players know each other and are a team before the meet.
you can piss away a week or two just on the initial meet as everyone assenses each other and describes the traffic on the way to the meet.

it would also help if the group knew the Johnson and just took the amount offered. I see the negotiation phase going as long as the run with counter offers, scans, background checks, and after negotiation conversations on if Mr J is playing them straight or if this is all a trap. If they know its more than likely not a trap, they wont spend so much damn time working on the air tight plan to knock over the stuffer shack in involving no less than three members of Danish Royalty, a live tiger, and an inflatable inertube. If you have to ask, then you weren't there  8)
