So...in the spirit of 'the old is the new new' here's something I found today.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/want-to-see-the-homemade-spy-drone-that-can-hack-phone-calls/

Which SR drone would most likely mirror this in capabilities?
It's not the man with the gun that gets you.  It's the three bullets he fired that tore through you vital organs that's killed you.

Funny enough, one from "This Old Drone".  The Aztechnology Hedgehog, Page 4.

Other than that, any flying drone with some software upgrades.

A flying hedgehog? Awesome :)

The AZT Hedgehog doesn't fly, but the design for it was back in the days when cell phones were fairly rare.

New model drones can all do the job of the suggested drone, with the software added onto them.  Said software is sold separately because, well, more profit than bundling!  Just make the hardware incompatible with your competitors software so they have to buy yours anyhow, and...

It's all about making money on the peripherals...sigh.

But yeah, I'm imagining a Rigger/Hacker that specializes in sniffing out info.

Makes sense.  One of the secondary characters in my stories (Who was actually created by someone else, and is working on a story of his own) has moved from one occupation full-time into the Shadows, specializing in legwork and information procurement from secondary sources.

As RPGers, we tend to think of the main body of the 'Runners, but tend to forget the logistics side that also comes into play, and that you can hire experts to do it for you rather than do a second-rate job yourself.

Agreed.  One of the things I am going to work on in order to rebuild my character-building skills is a team of investigators that have gone private & a bit into the shadows.  An ex-Lonestar detective that goes private when his corp gets dumped for KE and takes some of his team/contacts with him into biz.

When it comes to looking for someone, anyone with a SIN, you can't beat a low-level clerk at the SIN Registry Office or the DMV.  They're underpaid, unappreciated, and not really noticed by anyone.

And accessing files are typical of their job anyhow.

*Sighs*  I was a clerk as well, I know just how un-everything you are.   :-\
