So there is a Karma rank under everyones Name an Posting Rank is there a reason for this or is it too like the posting ranks just something to keep us amused??
-
No Karma for you!! :P
-
If you look below the Karma, there's an applaud/smite link. It's a way of tracking you're 'likeability' on the forums, kinda like the 'Rep Score' on JackPoint in the sourcebooks.
Hmm... JMH, any chance Karma could be re-named 'Rep Score'?
-
Yeah. That would be much cooler (though maybe not as memorable).
-
Or it could just be updated to "Edge" for SR4. ;)
-
No Karma for you!! :P
You stay outta this you Rock n Roll Lizard Troll or i'll make sure you get BONKed!
-
Edge would be cool but I also like the Karma thing
-
I think either karma or rep score is good, just one thing troubling me though, I hope nobody gets the idea of spamming "smite"(bad karma) to everyone just because he feels like it :-\. And also, do you get kicked of the forum or something like that if you get too much bad karma? ???

I'll check!

Edit: And done!

Sweet! Thanks, JM!

You don't get kicked off, you're just treated the same as Clockwork on Jackpoint... :D
-
I thought it was Puck that was always at the bottom? Not that Clockwork didn't make some serious enemies... (well, as serious as Slamm-0! gets anyway)
-
Clockwork dropped like a rock during Emergence! when he sent a corp after Netcat. Since then, he's been mistrusted by most of the other runners on Jackpoint.
-
So if I come out of the closet and say I am a Technomancer my Karma will sink?
Oh wait I guess I just said I am a Mancer.
::) ::)

Ya, his cred took a nosedive after that incident. Netcat was pretty popular.

Was? As far as I know she still is. Or did Jennifer take Netcat with her when she left?

Netcat remains active on Jackpoint!
Jason H.
-
Well, can't get more official than that :) Thanks Boss!
I like Netcat :)
-
Netcat is pretty popular, but her repscore did drop a bit after the big outing. It climbed back up when people realized they were being asinine, but I don't know if it ever got back to its former height.
-
Nah, chances are it will go up (<boop>). Clockwork's a rigger that doesn't trust the 'mancers, thinking they are all pawns of AIs.

I'm waiting to see how the pregnancy goes. And if her baby will be active from the start.
Also, any confirmation on Slamm-0! being the father? ???
-
The WHAT?? When did THAT happen?

It's a running theme throughout the Jackpointers in Corporate Guide.

Oh, you're not getting anything out of me about the father at the moment. Sorry!
Jason H.

Dammit. OK, big announcement! EVERYBODY stop using references from books NOT translated to german yet! Its... not nice... :( In fact, its torture :(
-
Sorry Doc...
-
If only there was some word... preferably in german... to describe the amusment I feel at others misery.
;D sorry... I had to do that
-
There is a word. It is called "Schadenfreude" (noun, describes the feeling to have fun at someone elses expense), I think it covers what you described perfectly ;) And no offense taken, I don't think I could have stopped myself from doing exactly the same thing ;)
-
If only I could sling virtual fireballs. ::)
Y'know, having a 'mancer friend would probably be handy in that regard...

I think he may have a specific one (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/schadenfreude) in mind^^
edit: bah, how did I miss Doc's post up there? But yes, American intellectuals love to borrow terms from German for our emotive words^^ Heck, "angst" went mainstream a while back.

The german publisher announced that they want to publish a german version, just no date for it yet...
