Checking out the preview, am I reading this right?

No Shadowtalk?  And the artwork?  Is this like that "You can be a dragon PC" preview from Runner's Companion?

My two cents is this is an awesome product.....much love given to the art work. My wife (from Ausi land) is a little sad for the poor Koala lol! Great job SR team. I will use some of these little critters this weekend, including the Jackalope!

Maybe it's just the preview then.

Can you confirm the lack of Shadowtalk, or is it just on pages we don't see in the preview?

there is no shadowtalk, but lots of great little bits of information containing things like awakened insect types, some top zoo's around the world for awakened, three new horses that can be picked up for training, several types of poison including availability and cost.

No shadowtalk is pretty much a no buy point for me, shadowtalk is probably why I fell in love with the game in the first place
But I didn't know he was a DRAGON!

It's one of the main things I looked for in Shadowrun Sourcebooks.  That and the extensive novels Shadowrun used to have, and will hopefully have again.

Also depends on the amount of urban animals.

My group tends to not like Not-City.  They've also come to hate LA, but that's for different reasons, involving Goofy and Batman.

If there's only one book...why is it called Parazoology?

I'll post in the right place.

But, yeah, someone who bought it, please comment on a "Yay" or "Ney" for Shadowtalk?

Frankie already did above.

I hope this is not going to be a recurring thing. Without shadowtalk its just not shadowrun.

Ah, missed that comment, thank you for pointing it out.

Well, it is the first non-adventure book that hasn't had Shadowtalk in it, as far as I can recall, so it's a major change to things.

If it were on a different topic, I might think about picking it up anyhow, but I already have more animals that I'll ever use in Running Wild (Dead Tree Format).

But, well, fans are a finicky bunch when it comes to things.  "They changed it now it sucks"/"They changed it now it's great" are often going to be arguments.  Can't please everyone.

...

Well, except for that Shadowrun game M$ put out.  I think that pretty much cheesed everyone off to no end.

I will buy the book, ain't no doubt.

However I am disappointed in the lack of Shadowtalk. These runner comments always make the books feel more ...integrated... with the SR universe, just by having known runners post their own reviews.

Without these comments, I'm worried the book is just a bunch of source code ready to be implemented, whereas 'Shadowtalking' books are akin to an AI prepating to pounce :D
