Hello!

I have only recently gotten back into Shadowrun after a very lengthy hiatus that lasted from the first year of SR3. Anyhow, looking at the core material and supplements - I got all five core supplements from DriveThruRPG for a lowly fifty bucks - it seems some things have changed. The awesome thing is that the books I want are all on sale now. I hear there's a new edition coming soon-ish, but I'm tired of running games with a heavy metaplot. Got my fill of that with cWoD, thank you very much.

So, in the last couple of months I have purchased...

Shadowrun, physical books:
Shadowrun 20th anniversary edition
Shadow Runner's Toolkit
Seattle 2072

Shadowrun, PDFs:
Augmentation
Arsenal
Corporate Guide
Corporate Intrigue
Runner's Companion
State of the Art 2073
Street Magic
Unwired

Future purchases:
10 Gangs
10 Jackpointers
Deadly Waves
Digital Grimoire
Gun Heaven
MilSpecTech
Parabotany
Running Wild
Safehouses
Street Legends
Street Legends Supplemental
This Old Droid
Unfriendly Skies
Vice

I'm mostly interested in running games with a solid mix of social backstabbing, spying and small unit tactical combat elements in it. Any suggestions on other books I should be looking at?

WAR! (for small unit tactical combat elements and some of the gear)
Spy Games(for the spying related stuff)
Dirty Tricks (for politics!)

Heck..I toyed with the idea of a Scout-Sniper Technomancer using stuff from WAR!
Some fun stuff in WAR! btw: MRSI software, and camera bullets(You shoot the round,
and it sends you video footage while in flight. I call it Recon by Bullet.)

Hay everyone just Logging in with a new handle
“For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast,
And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed;
And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill,
And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!”

Howdy folks. Another old runner from the 1E/2E days with a big gap in his resume. I generally ran the game Way Back When (89-92) but every once in a while, got to break out Belker, my dwarf former-cop-turned-dog-shaman. Working on recreating him under SR4A rules.

I'd started picking up the 4th edition books around the time the 20th anniversary core book came out, but as I suspect happened to more than a few folks, the Shadowrun Returns Kickstarter caught my eye and got the need to play in the shadows going again. Doesn't hurt that the manager of my FLGS is a hardcore Shadowrun fan.

I'm in central Maryland, by the way.

Welcome to the boards! Lots of fun to be had here, feel free to share your opinion on any of the topics you find interesting!
In case you hadn't heard, along with the PC/console/handheld games, a real SR5 is in the works, but don't let that stop your from enjoying the masterpiece which is SR4(A). It'll probably be quite a while for the new version to become anywhere near as expansive as the current.

Seeing as this is the thread to do so, I may as well announce my finding this site and registering.

Hello!

I'm not new to Shadowrun or 4E, but I am new here.  I spent many years playing in the olden days, but eventually lost track with Shadowrun for various reasons.  I found my way back about a year or so ago to find that the game I once loved not only got a facelift, but that it was made even more beautiful than I could have hoped for.

Again, hello!

Yeah, feel free to poke at CanRay's inability to actually play. Everyone does it. :P
