The rules says that incase of ramming, full-auto and area effect attacks both passengers and vehicles resist the damage equally.
The players and I got a little confused over the wording. Does this mean that the damage from said attacks are split between the vehicle and it's passengers, or do they both resist the full amount.

The Example in question:
A troll has stolen a Nordkapp Zugmaschine with a trailer and (purposely) drives it through an office building at full speed (90 meters per turn), resulting in a ram with an impressive damage value of 48 physical.

Since the ramming vehicle only take half of the ramming damage, does this mean the troll and truck gets a damage value 12 hit each or damage value 24 hit each ?

Thanks in advance.

Sadly they both take 24 damage. The ramming rules for SR4A are messed up where the higher the body of the vehicle you are riding, the more damage you take from a ram or crash. For autofire, both passengers and vehicle have to resist the same damage but the passengers at least get the vehicle armour added to their soak roll.
For our games, I house ruled that the characters only have to resist whatever damage the vehicle didn't soak in a ram or crash. This means if you were on a bike, you are likely going to be hurt badly while if you were riding in the Zugmaschine for example, you would be less likely to be injured since that vehicle has better soak capability. It isn't perfect but it does cut down on the insta-death from crashing in a high body car.

Thought so, that does sound like a reasonable solution to the problem.

Thanks a lot
