Shadowrun release rush continues with Mil Spec Tech 2!

We’ve been putting out Shadowrun product pretty regularly lately, and we don’t see a reason to stop now! Our latest is a follow-up to one of our most popular PDF products ever, Mil Spec Tech. It’s called, logically enough, Mil Spec Tech 2, and it’s on sale now (Battleshop, DriveThruRPG)! Here’s the rundown:

Things to See, Things Not to See

Sometimes you look at a catalog to see if there’s anything in it that you want. And sometimes you look to see what you need to avoid.

You’ll find both types of things in here. The tech heads of the Sixth World remain busy, coming up with more ways to slaughter metahumans with maximum efficiency. And they have plenty of battlegrounds in the world where they can test their toys out. There are things in here that shadowrunners would be exceedingly lucky to get their hands on, and things whose very appearance serves to tell them they’re having a very bad day indeed. From automated strike drones to nearly invisible tactical aircraft, from the ground-clearing Dassault Zeta Bravo to the drone killing Bridgette Tactical Vehicle, Mil Spec Tech 2 has the latest and greatest tools of war—along with a host of missiles to keep anyone in a war zone on their toes.

Mil Spec Tech 2 is for use with Shadowrun, Twentieth Anniversary Edition.

Available via Battleshop:

And Drive Thru RPG:

No idea what's in this one yet, but I'm willing to bet it includes things that go boom.

And we all like the boom. :)

I have found that there are few problems that can't be solved by either duct tape, Febreeze, or copious amounts of high explosives.

Also, gotta love the TAN DEM. There is a definite need for more anthroform drones.

Noticed that in the preview. Hopefully they'll fix that and lower it 4 points. We need a decent anthro within normal availability (without blowing a RG quality on it).

As a drone fan and a lover of anthromorphic conecepts, I'd love to add more. Just gotta figure out where.

I saw the preview too, and I really had to ask, "Why?" to this drone.
The picture is awesome, and if that's what you got, I'd be all over it, but it isn't.

Check the stats - no arm or arms (full or partial) are mentioned. So out of the picture, you are getting just the one arm that represents the flexible weapon mount. Doberman from the base book has a turret weapon mount, legs, and costs less.

The armor that the Tan Dem comes with also bites, since its lower than the drone's 3 body; the drone does not have any text saying it can wear humanoid armor, so I'd expect to have to upgrade the drone armor to make this a usable drone for any PC, and that drops the drone's speed. Basic Doberman already has good armor, higher than its body, which means its ready to go right from purchase. Given the info in the fluff, I'd have expected at least a 4 armor with Chem protection and maybe Radiation protection built in, if that's what the drone is commonly used for.

About the only thing you can maybe say this has over the basic Doberman is that its in a 'military' catalog and thus can arguably start with a rating 5 node as military grade equipment, instead of the Doberman's 4 as security grade. However with the Tan Dem's picture having "Security" emblazoned across it, that 5 rating military node is in no way guaranteed at every GM's table.

If they eratta this drone to actually have a fully articulated arm (and maybe higher armor) it becomes a good drone at the correct price point. If they don't, just grab that basic Doberman and add an arm to it, and get a better drone.

I totally agree they need more anthroform (bipedal + humanoid) drones, and around the 3000 to 6000 price point range. But those drones have to be at least equivalent to the drones in the basic book to even make sense for companies to produce, let alone military.

Besides the drone, did anyone else notice Kane trying to get his hand on a strategic bomber?
