It didn't really matter to Dunkelzahn because realistically his life predated the UCAS and U.S. and he did awaken from his lair within the U.S.
Kind of like Sean Connery's character Ramirez in Highlander 2: The WTFing, when he came back from the dead and one of his first stops was at Scotland's Oldest Gentlemen's Shop because he was Scotland's Oldest Gentleman.
One of the few memorable lines in a film best left forgotten.
