Title: Site formatting
Post by: Kiirnodel on <03-07-18/1631:30>
Has the forum lost nearly all formatting for anyone else? The forum still works, but all I'm seeing is barely formatted text...

The same for me on iOS. I haven’t tried on a pc yet though so cannot tell whether it’s the same.

Browsing on an android with Chrome, myself. So it appears cross-platform.

Yeah, it's on the PC too.  I've seen it happen a couple times, usually it just gets better after a bit, like when the site goes down.  It does make it difficult to do much on here in the meantime, but hey, this site's been around for a while I think.

They're trying to serve CSS and JS(!) via HTTP, while the forums are served via HTTPS. Can't mix protocols like that, so your browser drops the lowest. Looks like their certificate might not cover the CDN. It'll run in IE with a spooky warning each time you navigate to the page, if you're desperate.

Suffering the same issue here. It does make reading kinda hard, I hope it will be back to normal soon.

@Chummer 5 is Alive: you are 100% right, I just tried with IE (god save my soul  :P) and it works with a warning to click with every new page.

In Chrome's address bar, on the right side, just before the bookmark star, you'll see a shield with an "x" on it.  Click that and there is a link to "Load unsafe scripts".

In Firefox, just before the URL in the address bar will be a lock with a warning triangle.  Click that, click the arrow pointing to the right, and then click "Disable protection for now".

Thanks tequila, that worked.

Kinda wished the forums would update the scripts so that they are secure though...

tequila, do you know a fix for mobile devices? On my phone, chrome doesn't include that icon to select and quickly fix it.

Oh my god THANK YOU.  I just couldn't use the site like that.  I can finally post again.  x.x

Excellent. I can switch to Chrome for now. Don't suppose anyone knows a fix for Safari?

Ugh. Really wish they'd fix this. It happens every time the site goes down, but this is the longest it has been screwed up. At least there's a temporary workaround.

Yeah, it's definitely greatly impacting the traffic to the site.  Things don't normally go super sonic around here, but usually there's more than 2 topics posted on per day.  The weekend's over, so maybe that means people will work to fix whatever problem it is now?

It will probably be fixed about the time TMs stop being the redheaded stepchild of 5E.

Sounds like now's a better time than ever to do that dark internet ritual I had planned then.  With any luck, Kill Code won't suck and the site will be fixed tomorrow.

It does have a certain charm. Like Vir in Babylon 5. Only, most of the time Londo was right.

on microsoft edge you can also get it to display the non-secure content, but you have to do it again for every page you load, so I switched to chrome for the time being, as there you only need to do it once.

As long as you do no use the "open in a new tab" function which I use for every topic I want to open  :'(

Is there a way to make the icons a little more distinctive? The colorblindness I have makes it harder than I think it should be to distinguish between forums with new activity and forums without. Thanks.

I am playing around with updated themes, but don't have anything together just yet. Unfortunately, if you switch back to the old themes, you run into the problems we had before.

Can we get the Pipeline and Upcoming aligned to the left to make it more legible? I think centering it makes it cluttered. Just my 2¥
