So some googling didn't uncover the answer readily, and I'll probably crosspost this question to the the October FAQ thread.

For Instuction tests done by NPCs to help teach players in Missions, what is their Charisma attribute rating that goes into the dice pool?

Would it be the metahuman average of 2, perhaps 4 for an elf?

Of all the Season 5 contacts, only Lothan has the instruction skill so you could go to him for magical training and some other stuff.   You could default with the other contacts' charisma, but this won't even buy a single with half of them.  Its about the same for all the generic contacts in the core book as well.

Just wanted to know since Instruction might be useful in saving some downtime between runs

Don't forget we technically don't know people their skills and stats, we only know their Connection.

Yeah, its just that for instruction tests, connection doesn't factor into it only charisma and instruction.

The Faq only says that the instructors have to buy hits and their required skill is min of 3

Hmm, reading more into it,there is some confusion on this with the instructors being able to reduce time by a quarter which is better than one or two days for skills greater than 4.

Quote from: Corebook pg 105
For the duration of training
required per attribute or skill rating, refer to the Training
Rate Table. This time can be reduced with the help of an
instructor (see Using Instruction, p. 141).
...
Skills can be taught for improvement purposes. If
the player is able to find an instructor to train him and
help him perfect his techniques, the time it takes improve
his skill is reduced by 25 percent (round down).

Quote from: Corebook pg 141
Using Instruction
From virtual instructors to how-to vids, there are numerous
ways to learn skills. There is no substitute, however,
for a flesh-and-blood instructor. In order to teach someone
a skill, a character must have the skill at Rating 4 or
higher. The teacher can only teach up to their own Instruction
Rating. Teaching is an Instruction + Charisma
[Social] Test. Every hit on the Teaching Test reduces the
time for the student to improve their skill by a day (Character
Advancement, p. 103).

Nor does Connection factor into Negotiation, but we still pretty much use Connection for everything.

That would be a change in the faq indeed.

And it would have to be double Connection again since otherwise the dicepool isn't much.

Out of curiosity has Instruction been used much for any previous Missions seasons?
