[6E] Double Clutch - Is there a hard definition for rigger?

(1/1)

marfish:
In the new chase rule, it states that

--- Quote from: DC, p. 175 ---Third, for the gear: All riggers gain an Edge whenever they make a Piloting test. Some qualities or gear might award Edge in specific circumstances.
--- End quote ---

So, what is a rigger? The one with control rig? But I really that statement was removed in the third errata.

Xenon:
Isn't it just repeating what was already printed in CRB?

--- Quote from: CRB, p. 283 ---When you’re jumped in it provides its rating as a dice pool bonus on and reduction in threshold to all tests involving the operation of vehicle, and a bonus point of Edge.

--- End quote ---

MercilessMing:
They're definitely referring to the edge bonus you get with the VCR.  I don't like when they use the word "rigger" in place of that piece of gear, but they are referring to the VCR.

Banshee:
While not explicitly stated, to be a rigger you have to have a Control Rig ... anything else would just be a driver/pilot.

So yes any rule referencing a rigger is connected to the control rig implant.

funkytim:
Or you need technomancer version of the control rig.
