Title: Completely Unofficial GenCon Meet-and-Greet
Post by: Critias on <08-10-14/1849:02>
Howdy all,

I'm gonna snag some table space at the TGI Friday closest to the convention center (501 W Washington Street) on Wednesday, about 5:00 pm.  My plan is to just hold onto the space as long as they'll have us, and as long as everyone keeps tipping generously we can just hang out, maybe grab a drink from the bar if that's your thing, and chow down on endless appetizers and all sorts of other stuff that's really terrible for us.  ;)

The table'll be under "Rusty," so feel free to swing by and say hi, hang out for a while, all that good stuff!

Really wish I could meet you there, but I'm gonna be driving (from Virginia) 11 hours through the night Wed to get to my Thursday events in time.

Hopefully I'll still have a chance to meet you and possibly some of the other guys in the forums here.  I've had quite a few good discussions around here and I'd like to put a face to some of you chummers if I can.  I've got a 4 shadowrun events scheduled, and I'll check back here periodically to see if there's anyone doing impromptu social events.

No worries there, plenty of us will be bouncing around the CGL booth, CGL HQ (over where the SR and BT games are), playing in some SR and BT games ourselves, yadda yadda yadda, all week/weekend long.  It's not like we only make a public appearance at TGI Friday and then wear a mask all the rest of the con or something.  :)

Drive safe!  That's a long haul, solo.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread, but does anyone know where to find missions legal pre-gens? I just want a legal Weapons Specialist to play at GenCon.

The Agents will have modified versions of (i think) all the pregens available.  They've been rebuiilt to make sure they're actually by the book (SOme of the Archetypes were made using an earlier Chargen build and slipped through, so some are underpowered, some are overpowered, and some have qualities that aren't Missions Legal.

If it'll help folks spot us during the meet-and-greet at TGI Friday, or even just to flag me down and say howdy during the rest of the convention, here's my official mug shot from Strays and junk.  Feel free to say hi!

Thanks for posting the pic.  I would have been looking for the guy you have as your avatar. ;)

Wish I could make it this year, but the new job I started after last year's GenCon hasn't reached a point where there's enough post-bills pay to do a convention run. Maybe next year, though.

It looks like that, after check-in and all that, I should be able to drop by around 7:00.

We had folks arriving in waves (especially when the GM/volunteer meeting got out, and Bull's scooter led the charge), but all told I'd say we had between twenty and thirty people there, so not too shabby!  Thoroughly mediocre food, sadly no honoring of the endless appetizers promotion, but it was cool to get everyone in one place and say howdy, shake hands, put names to faces, that sort of thing.
