Gamemasters' Lounge / Re: Cyberware Overdrive?

The max you can do is add two to the rating, adding a a single regular die and the wild die (which can be beneficial or disastrous).

Gamemasters' Lounge / Cyberware Overdrive?
« Last post by Aria on <03-10-25/1158:53> »
So is there really no disadvantages to doing this? And can you cook your ‘ware constantly provided you spend a minor action? Yes I know there’s a massively small chance of getting a glitch but no player is going to do this on something that actually has a chance of glitching, right?? And they can always edge the roll…  I seem to recall in previous editions there was something like a drain mechanic for doing this but there doesn't seem to be in 6E unless I'm missing something?

So how does this stay in check? The ability to exceed the max. +4D to a roll is grotesque!!

Any thoughts appreciated!

Complex forms no longer have Level.

Gear / Re: clothes created with a Fashion Spell

In my Chicago based game (loosely based on the SR5 missions and running on beyond that story arc), I always played on fixer (Silverleaf) as kind of looking down at the scruffy runner team -- and there had been an escalating rivalry situation with her.  The campaign eventually went to France for a while for reasons, and before heading back to Chicago the decker/mage (a scrawny young woman who'd always dressed in oversized practical clothing) decided to spend some time and karma to pick up knowledge skill high fasion and the Fashion spell.

Upon returning to Chicago the character went out of their way to get a meet with Silverleaf and showed up much more fashionably dressed.  And that was when they hashed out their differences and built a bit of an alliance of equals.

Thanks, and thanks for the recommendations.  I'll see what other people have already made and see if there's anything I can use...

The campaign I'm trying to do is a very straightforward one, with each "job" boiling down to one main encounter with a roleplay scene before and after, so my new players can learn to play.  The first job is going to be a chase combat; with Foundry VTT I should be able to make a scrolling highway map for the battle to take place on.  I might be able to find a map for this one or I'll just have to make my own stretch of highway for it.

The second job (I am not preparing further yet, but I have the rest outlined) is going to be focused around a fight in a bowling alley, so that one I think I'll also have to make from scratch but, at least it's just a one-story building so they layout shouldn't be too difficult to match.

Gear / clothes created with a Fashion Spell

I usually take Fashion simply to provide other PCs with a decent wardrobe for meeting Johnsons etc - but the spell does seem very versatile. Other than as an extra cash stream, frex selling Trez Chic clothing, what fun things have people done with it?

Welcome back Firebug -- it is great to hear that things are going better for you these days!  And also that you are still involved with ShadowRun :)

My mapmaking never evolved past scribbling something in a square-ruled notebook, but to follow up on what Aria said about Reddit, there is a recent thread on digital map-making where various people talk about their techniques, and someone links to their Pinterest archive of maps.  Likely worth checking out!  https://www.reddit.com/r/Shadowrun/comments/1iy1u8p/shadowrun_making_basic_maps/

There are various 'maps' and 'building plans' popping up on Reddit now and again, I've not really used them myself as I tend to use Google Maps for outside and wing it on the inside but there's some good stuff!
