Damit Jordan, Why must you take my money. Why must everything you do speak to me at some personal level.

I took the opportunity to pre-back this project at GenCon. It's $50 to do so, with a set of ten BattleTech merc unit dog tags as the convention promotional item.

That's neat. Any word as to the timeframe the game will be set it?

Yeah, I need to throw money at HBS again. I don't have SR:R-HK yet but I know this is going to be great. Will this be a back to school present or a Thanksgiving treat or a Holiday present?

The Kickstarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/webeharebrained/battletech?ref=card) seems off to a good start, already hitting their Stage One goals already.

Going to be watching this one fairly closely...a little surprised that the cord offering doesn't include a campaign, but suspect that Wong be much of an issue.

yeah, good start.

Funded in 52 minitues and now over twice its goal and approaching 3x.
All announced goal in stage 1 funded.

The Nobel House Scion level at 125.00 is very appealing but do I get Kurita, Steiner, or Davion.

I like that they are starting in 3025. Leaves room for lots of DLC before a second full game that introduces Clans.

The $50 level seems tempting just for the bonus Stackpole e-novella .

The bonus e-novellas and chance for a full on e-novel as Backer missions acrew seems neat as well.

Lots of really neat things about this campaign...timing kind of sucks as there are some other pretty interesting KSers happening: Infinity, Q-Workshop Paizo Dice, Delta Green...sigh... ::)

I'm into Infinity for a digital subscription and Warpath from Mantic is getting more money than i'm willing to admit.

They've cracked 1 million dollars so the single player campaign is funded.  It seems to me they have a realistic chance at getting all the way to stage 4 multi-player (@ 2.5 million.)

I'll be grabbing the $125 House Scion package in a few weeks; either House Davion or House Kurita (I'm leaning towards Kurita). I am really tempted to go for that $275 level pledge though.

Still on the fence here...not really sure why. HBS have a proven track record and I've really enjoyed their SRR games. I think that some of the pledge levels are really interesting...sigh...not computing. I think it may have something to do with the delivery date...May 2017...long ways off...back to the fence.

Well the main thing is Hong Kong was so fast because it was an iteration... Battletech they're building from the ground up in Unity 5 so it's going to take a fair bit longer.

And yeah, I've tossed my hat in for the $275 teir... not exactly cheep here in Australia (around $450AUD by the time you factor in shipping and exchange rates.)

The question I have for you is this:

Do you like BattleTech?

If the answer is yes, kick in $25 for the game. If the answer is no, don't.

Like PS said, you don't have to go for all the bells and whistle packages.  All the bonus stuff is nice but not essential to just enjoying the game.

Yes, a May 2017 delivery date does seem a long ways off.
However I can respect a realistic delivery date they can meet than some overly ambitious promised delivery date that sounds good to the crowds, but they probably don't have a chance in hell of making.

Personally I have gone in on the $50 level just because I do like Stackpole's work and the bonus e-novella are worth it, especially as the levels rise there are potential for extra e-novella.

Since this is the first Kickstarter I will have participated in from (nearly) the start, I do have a question, if anyone knows: If I pick up a cheaper pledge level at first, can I upgrade it to a higher one later on?

Yes. You can use the pledge manager button to change your pledge level or you monetary amount at any time before the end of the KS.  Keep your pledge level and increase the money for add-ones or move to different pledge level.

Excellent news, thanks!

Also, FYI for those that don't know, no one actually gets charged unless and/or until the Kickstarter campaign actually ends.  AFAIK they don't even auth your card ahead of time.
